This, being bought by Disney was the best thing to happen to Marvel once Disney figured out what to do with them. If DC lost batman right now, they'd pretty much up and die, while marvel could lose Spiderman, hulk, or wolverine and be ok. What really helps marvel is being a part of a well known fighting franchise, Marvel vs Capcom, Disney's movies, and just more general exposure.
