WW3 started in 2015 so says the first paragraph and the RP beings 20 years after WW3, on the 2nd paragraph. Of course, a single point is missing, when did WW3 ended? We don't know but we do know that the RP is set 20 years [i]after[/i] WW3. So if Isam was 23 when he set foot in America and assuming WW3 ended then, then logically Isam would be 20 years older, making him 43 when the RP starts.

My previous thought process was that a pseudo Iraqi government existed during the 20 year intermission of WW3 and "RPresent" which Isam was part of the military. Two years before RPresent he set foot in America, giving him two years experience within the country which would make him 25 years old.
