The Eight Nation Alliance showed up because of the Qing Empire's support of the Boxer Rebellion. Should the Qing actively suppress it, I imagine Europe would be a lot less interested.

Most likely, I'll offer a counter-proposal of simply arming/supplying the Qing Empire rather than direct intervention, but I'll wait until at least Great Britain and France have replied.

As for the Qing itself, I don't have any intention of saving it. Naturally, the Empress wants to keep it alive, but I don't have any long-term ambition to maintain the Qing Empire, no.
