Kiara watched, eyes wide with fear as the two wolves battled it out. With each blow, she sunk further and further into the fur of the wolf beneath her, as if it would help her to disappear. It wasn't until she felt the bond between Alpha and pack sever, that she truly knew Luke was gone. Normally, she would be ecstatic, but the way it was happening... it was sad. People were dying over something that could have been handled civilly, and now they were trying to take Jaii's rightful place from him? It was wrong. It was just so wrong. Kiara watched as her parents agreed with Rick and felt her stomach plummet. There was no way that she could speak up for Jaii. She just couldn't. Maybe she could yell and talk to Dakeyras, but he was different somehow. This was her pack, and she could never speak against them. All the same, she couldn't just sit here and watch this happening, but what was she supposed to do? Was she supposed to leave with Jaii? Leave not only her pack, but her parents. Unlike many of the shifters here, she'd grown up under Luke just as Jaii had. This was her home. How does one leave their home? Her grip tightened in his fur, and she let out a quiet cry of loss. Either way, things would be changing. "I..." she started, knowing that no one would hear her. "I want to go too..." she laid her head down, knowing that no one would ever know except the stranger she met in her store today. No one besides him would be able to hear her words or know what her deepest wish was. Instead, she would be staying here because she couldn't speak louder, because she was unable to stand up and tell everyone how she really felt. Kiara was ashamed.
