Seriously, the girl's right- someone walks into League HQ and threatens to blow the place up and we're just treating it as a harmless prank?

Did she threaten to blow it up though? :P Pulling out the detonator -that thing could be anything. And if anyone truly had their wits about them (seemingly everyone but Cordelia, though Volt was slightly concerned) they'd stop to consider she's in a room full of supers. Why would she bring in a legitimate detonator, or at the very least one that did actual damage with people like that surrounding her? She's crazy not dumb.

Agnes said absolutely nothing about blowing anything up, only brandished a detonator.

I mean, detonators generally only mean one thing. I feel the situation is different because literally everyone in that room is a superhero (Hero, being used here very, VERY loosely) but just whipping out something that everyone knows could blow something up is not a particularly intelligent idea, and people definitely are right to get a bit upset about it. Just my two cents. Plus I think Cordelia is just the type to be angry all the time anyway, so that definitely wont make her any happier.

So.... When is the mish starting?

Also, Light and MC don't really know what a detonator is yet. Light just not caring and MC being insane atm more or less.

Brandish a gun near some cops sometime. Don't threaten to use it, just brandish it. See what happens.

It's the same basic concept. Holding a detonator is the same as saying "Listen up, fellas, I'm going to set off some explosives."

EDIT: Please don't think I'm trying to be rude to you or anything like that. I'm just a little surprised by how nonchalant everyone is being.

Very soon.

Yes but I can just say both Thomas's guardian spirit and Emily were perfectly capable of telling whether or not it had been an actual bomb.

That said, reprimands and punishment will follow.

Volt's not gonna be happy anyway, and he's generally pretty easy going.

Edit: Except they never said anything to the anyone else, who couldn't tell.

Except, as I'm sure you realize, these guys aren't cops. :P
Among other things, a bomb is just a man-made object as powerful and dangerous (or even less powerful) than the innate abilities of every breathing person in that room. The detonator is just more "visible". It all depends on the intents of the person wielding them.

Two people walk into a room; one who can create explosions with their mind, and one with a detonator in their hands. Both look equally angry. Do you care about the difference, or are you afraid of both of them?

Yeah, but if you tried to tell me that someone in this rp wouldnt be able to make SUPER bombs, I wouldnt believe you. So they still have every right to freak out about it.

Edit: Plus, not everyone who's a super is super tough. Like if Emmanuel got caught in a bomb blast? He's more than likely dead.

That's true, but you've characterized Agnes as an unstable and unpredictable pyromaniac- I don't think anyone was going to assume her intent was benevolent.

We'll agree to disagree- I've made my feelings known and I don't want to turn this blowing up into a huge big argument.

But what does having the ability to make a super bomb have to do with the intent to use it?

Unstable and unpredictable are mutually exclusive from intelligent and aware. Once again, she's crazy, not dumb. A serial killer could be unstable and unpredictable, but you think they'd off someone in the middle of a police HQ if they intended to get away with it? At that, Agnes certainly isn't suicidal.

@LeeRoy: yeah, but that'll just keep things interesting, right? Haha, I've never had a character as antagonistic/misanthropic as Cordelia before, and this is really fun. I'll have to make a nice character later to balance her out.

Abysse, I don't want to be rude here, so I apologize if it comes out that way, but there's really no other way her actions could be taken. This is a room full of people who have dealt with everything from criminals to supervillains. Whether or not they're cops is irrelevant-they're people. If you walk into a crowded room and hold up a detonator, people are going to flip out. Someone with a weapon will probably shoot you first and try and figure out what the hell happened later. Dropping a bag of God-knows-what by the door as you walk in, then coming inside and whipping out a detonator?

No one knows anything about Agnes, other than her name and the fact she's pulled out a detonator. They can't deduce whether or not she's just kidding or if she's really serious, aside from the telepaths. Regardless, bomb threats are really serious. A quick google search says bomb threats can be punishable by up to twenty years in prison. A group of people who are probably at risk for PTSD who are used to dealing with murderers and generally crazy people really aren't going to handle a bomb threat well. Those who know what she's capable of, power-wise, are only going to be more afraid. If I see Volt, I'm going to be a little uneasy because I know he can shock me to death just because he feels like it. If I see him come in tugging around a generator, I'm going to be pissing myself.

It doesn't matter what her intentions were, it matters how everyone else perceives them. Personally, it feels unrealistic for me to have a girl who's been in a bunch of street fights and learned it's generally better to assume the worst of people think that the new girl with the detonator is just messing around. I tried to have her play it cool and assume Agnes was joking, but setting off explosives (no matter how harmless) behind her kinda backs me into a corner here. You keep saying your character's not suicidal, but she definitely has a skewed perception of reality if she walks into a room full of incredibly powerful, hardened people with a detonator, then proceeds to actually set off explosives. If that's the way you want to play your character-unstable and dangerous-that's totally fine with me, it's an approach you don't usually see in superhero RP's, but you can't ignore the consequences of it.

Well, my characters are still getting used to this world as a whole, so while they'll learn quick, you'll be able to get away with some stuff like that once. Though those two girls didn't leave a very good impression, thats for sure. At least MC is being harmless in just throwing plushies and water around. :P

But what they said. First impressions can mean a lot. although MC doesn't care Abbot them and Light is used to her first impression being of people freaking out more than anything, so my characters aren't the best to ask about first impression advice :P.

I suppose I'll agree to disagree as well then, cause this isn't going anywhere. In any case, I'd just like to mention that the stuff she brought in was dropped at the League HQ's entrance, not at the door of the Common's Room; how you were able to perceive the bags I don't understand.
