No strength left to waste being tense as Edge reached out though Path kept a close eye on his hand as it ran smoothly over the surface of the egg. His gaze softened and he curled around them once more, not in defense but from affection. He, truthfully, had missed his mate. The soft touches, the gentle looks...everything the human had to offer. The pregnancy had left a dent in them both, one Path intended to fix after all of this was fully over. He was grateful for now though that Edge seemed to be himself and had understood the dragon's protectiveness. He felt safer with his mate on ground level with them, speaking softly. Such a comfortable moment...he could have..just fallen asleep..if not for Edge's yelp. He couldn't help but smile because he knew...catching Edge's hand before he fully withdrew it. He placed it back against the egg, running his own over it warmly. "This..This is your father..." He murmured sweetly to the eggs though he doubted they had yet to develop their sense of hearing. He smiled, something he hadnt done in a while as he kissed Edge's hand gently, "He will be a great father won't he?" he asked softly, turning his head at the question. The smile on his face disappearing , "I...do not know. I have never seen the offspring of a hydra before, I have never known of the offspring of both kinds." He said it quickly, skimming over his words, not wishing to bring about the issue of their kind,a rivalry that was by now surely long dead. It did make him wonder though, exactly how their children would turn out to be. How would they grow? How would they learn? It felt strange to wonder about his own species. Was this how Edge felt? Not knowing what he ought to know about himself? He rested his head gently back down on the eggs, keeping them cradled to his chest. A wave of exhaustion hit him once more and he felt his eyes threatening to close, but he couldn't...even if he trusted Edge to care for their offspring, Edge was still mostly human...and Path worried for the both of them. Still, the longer he stayed awake the more enticing a small nap became, but he knew the moment he succumbed to such a desire that no sooner had he closed his eyes, a week would go by. Leaving Edge alone that long... "Edgey.." He muttered, tilting his head to look up at his mate, "...Please..Cold water in a bowl.."
