Once the door opened, the disguised changeling gave a benign, sheepish, and tired smile to his soon-to-be benefactor... only to be taken slightly aback by the mare's dark appearance. Most of the ponies he'd met in his life were like candy colored rainbows, where as the mare in front of him now appeared to be colored as black as the chittin of his true form. It was odd to see any black on a pony at all, much less one whom seemed primarily composed of it. Honestly, the changeling hadn't thought ponies could have darker colors than that one stallion's navy blue, or that one unicorn from the wedding's purple mane. And her eyes... So much like his half sister's and his own, save for the color. With those similarities, he couldn't help half wondering if she was a changeling from another swarm for a moment... but he quickly banished the thought. Changelings, himself included, simply couldn't exude emotional energy like the pony before him was doing. Despite his distracting thoughts, the changeling recovered quickly, his weak smile never faltering. When she asked if he was alright, however, he was sorely tempted to drop the smile in favor of a deadpan glare... He'd made sure his wounds were quite obvious on this new form... not that he could have actually healed them with the meager amount of energy he possessed, but still. Regardless, the concern he felt pouring off of her was genuine enough to taste, so he suppressed the reaction admirably. "Um... Probably not, no..." He chuckled tiredly, standing with her help and a grunt while putting just enough weight on her to make her feel as if she was helping. When he shifted his weight to step on his right hind leg, however, he gave a half fake wince. "I'm fairly sure I twisted my leg up pretty badly... I got lost and took a nasty fall somewhere in the forest..." After he managed to limp into the building, he looked around for the nearest piece of furniture. As soon as his eyes settled on the couch, he slowly began to make his way towards it. "Thank you, miss... with the sounds I've heard out there, I wouldn't have blamed you if you'd just locked the door and left me outside 'till morning..." He gave a completely fake, yet almost certainly convincing shiver.
