How about every 3 hours? I just think it fits the character so well, and it also fits the tag Anastasia made me. I wont overuse it, just have a cool idea for him learning that he has the power...

EDIT: or we could go the whole other end of the spectrum and him have no control over it at all. He would eventually starve to death just like midas though...
