Rift Hound - Maroni's Restaurant His plan had, thankfully, worked. Joshua steadily fell faster and faster, his mind kicked into overdrive, trying to think of a safe way out. He had considered opening portal in the ground outside the restaurant that would allow him to fall upwards and cancel his momentum, but some of the gunmen had fired in panic. If even one stray bullet shot into one of his portals he could be done for, not to mention that another hostage looked like she was going to be killed! Even if they hadn't reached terminal velocity they were still well on their way. The gunmen would be knocked out from the fall, maybe with some fractures or broken bones. They'd at least hopefully have the wind knocked out of them for a while. Then again, he thought to himself, I have my own human projectiles! Joshua focused on the wall behind Bishop, straightened his body to fall feet first, relaxing slightly so he didn't land too rigidly and closed the ceiling portal while opening a portal behind Bishop aiming to kick him square in the back, hoping to take him out while the gunmen would ideally crash into their comrades. "This is gonna hurt!" he cried, as he flew through the portal.
