By the time the darkness had materialized over the capital, Itani had turned over Artemis's book to Constabulary headquarters. It wasn't the treasure trove the Constabulary had been hoping for, but it would provide valuable insight to the workings of the relics. Itani was set to venture back into the city and observe the tournament on the Constabulary's behalf, but the night had crept over the sky as she prepared to leave, sending the city into a panic. It was a phenomenon - clearly an unnatural one, and that became apparent when a messenger brought news of invasion to the Constabulary's HQ. "It's a mess in the capital! Othea is under invasion! The tournament grounds have turned into an all-out battlefield and there's fighting on the walls!" "How the hell did this happen?!" Itani furrowed her brow, slamming a fist against the wall. The capital was supposed to be Othea's most secure city, and for this to happen! "What are the Constabulary Guard's orders?" "The Constabulary's entire military arm is to be deployed in defense of the capital," came a bassy voice behind Itani's shoulder. Grand Constable Bergen Piett stepped forward, with a retinue of the Constabulary's prominent officers. "Our objective is to secure the last known position of the King and defend him from attack. We're working closely with the Knighthood and city guard on this defense. We've strong reason to suspect whoever's responsible for this of relic use. Take any suspects into custody and protect our new king! Move!" The officers gathered around the Grand Constable let out a resounding "Aye, Sir!" And leaped to action, gathering their regiments from the barracks. Itani hurried with them, rousing the VI Regiment, which was already geared and prepped, as they should be. She curtly relayed the Grand Constable's orders to her men before mounting her destrier and leading a battalion of soldiers out of the keep and down the capital's streets.
