Vee Generally, Vera didn't care for crowded spaces, particularly on the boat packed with excited and anxious students, new and returning. It was overwhelming being turned into a human cocktail of conflicting emotions, but once they landed, she excused herself for a walk around campus to unwind from the exhausting two hour trip. Vee was never one for the unavoidable heat of the island, but the humid discomfort was a familiar, if not welcoming sensation under her clothes as she wandered. Her home away from home. Still, she rolled up the sleeves of her zip-up jacket and carried on along the various paths through the campus. Eventually, she ended up back where she started somewhere in the middle of campus. Vera kept an eye out for all the new faces, suspecting she might be needing to hand out some directions or answer some questions. She remembered her first day being a horror show with the lack of control over her abilities, the heat, and her awful sense of direction. Since then, she made it her mission to help out in whatever way she could. Then her eyes landed on some Greaser guy throwing off his jacket and lighting up a cigarette. A single eyebrow lifted under the sweep of her blue bangs. Alright, bad boy. He was probably around her age, so she may as well introduce herself. Out of respect, she closed her mind and shut out the noise of outside feelings as much as she could as she approached him. Realizing she was coming out of his peripheral, she spoke up a respectful distance away. "Hey." As she closed the space between them, she noticed his Bad Company shirt. At least he had taste in music. The logo of her Ramones t-shirt was slapped on her flat chest between the open zipper of her jacket. "You're new?" It was a statement as well as a question; Just because she didn't recognize him didn't mean that he wasn't a returned. Though, she doubted she would have forgotten him, if that were the case.
