Yeah, blind, but they've worked on echolocation. I was thinking of a way of rationalizing a way to see through the eyes(poorly if at all), but can't think of it. They're more or less hollow with most of their internal organs, but its mostly leftover porcelain-like shells with little actual function. The windpipe combined with the vocal chords to make a compact style of organ pipes used for speech. The matter that makes up most of their muscular system is the same matter exhaled, and functions as the primary feeding function by breaking down and assimilating consumed carbon-based material. This considered, the breath weapon is a deliberate action, not a constant. (Out of safety for others, the matter is mostly stored in the arms, legs, stomach, lungs and heart. The containing walls and interior of 73 are softer to expand, contract and move the matter around the body)
Oh, and on a note about the whole "pollutant" thing; after being exposed to UV light for a few seconds(about 10), the mist neutralizes into a harmless hydrogen gas.
