Muse carefully pulled John and Ebil out of the doorway, cupping his reptilian hands around them as he drew them in towards his chest, trying to hold them securely but also gently. “Comfy?” he asked, grinning a bit nervously, before turning his head towards a spot of clear sky in the distance. I sense a lot of them over there… good place to start. he told himself, before spreading his wings and taking to the sky, the rain still pounding on his black scales. As he ascended and began to fly forward, his torso protected the two roleplayers not only from the rain, but from any threat that could possibly appear in such an unpredictable world. Sure, it probably wouldn’t be as fun as riding on a dragon’s back, but there’d be time for that later. For the time being, protection was the primary concern. Muse’s vision was partially obscured by the thick rain hitting him, making him squint his eyes, but he blinked once he broke through into clear skies, his view clearing. Up ahead, he could see a dot in the sky that was likely some sort of floating city roleplay. “I think some roleplayers landed up there.” He reported to his passengers. “We might as well take a look.” Poor guys were probably pretty freaked out, waking up on a floating chunk of land… He set his sights on the city, then, but before long, he grew distracted by a flicker of light below them. Looking down, he noticed a fire burning – and it felt like more roleplayers waited down there, too. In fact… Ugh, I know I shouldn’t cheat, but… Using his transformation powers, he sharpened his vision enough to clearly see the RPers’ faces. Plausible for a dragon, I suppose. he told himself as he focused on the party below, eyes landing on a very familiar face. Now way… it can’t be! His eyes grew wide as Muse nearly forgot about the floating city completely. He had to confirm this. “Hang on, we’re taking a detour!” he shouted before swiftly diving towards the ground below, clutching the players to his chest even more tightly. He reached ground level in barely a few seconds, his wingbeats nearly extinguishing the flame as easily as a child blowing out their birthday candles as he prepared to land. Once his feet touched the ground, Muse placed John and Ebil back on solid ground as carefully as he could while still maintaining his haste, all without taking his eyes off that one familiar roleplayer. “You!” he exclaimed, running towards him as he returned to his typical human form almost instantaneously. “Youyouyouyou!!” face full of disbelief, he grabbed Nautilus by his shoulders, then by his cheeks, then tugged on his skin and put his hands all over his face, confirming that his eyes weren’t deceiving him. “You! Are you… are you really you?! I mean, you – I don’t even remember your name, and I feel really bad about that – I’m not even sure I ever asked, which I feel even worse about – but I remember you! You, you were with me, and then, and then you… and I thought… but now…!” Muse’s speech broke up as he grew more and more emotional with each piece of thought he managed to spit out, all before tears finally managed to break through his eyes. “You… you’re alive!” he exclaimed, his mouth widening into a grin as tears rolled down his face, hardly able to stand on his own feet as he nearly fell to his knees. “I’m so glad…!!”
