"It's tough being a Neo-Anarchist these days. The corps own your hoop, friend. And looking around, I'm reminded of how easy I thought the revolution was gonna be back in the day. The man on the street has power, chummer. Every day people are Awakening, every day some kid teaches themself how to hack. Every day a ganger picks up a gun and finds out he's got good aim. If we wanted to, we could take back control, freedom. True freedom, not just freedom to pick which corp is gonna bend us over today. But they've got us by the short ones. They're in our heads, telling us how to think what we want. They make us think it's our own great idea to sign our lives over to the corps. I gave up on revolution years ago, chum. If anything's gonna happen, it'll come from the shadows. I'm not blind to the irony of escaping a life as a corp-slave only to work for them anyway. But I figure, if I can help take the fraggers down a notch, using their own money, that's a pretty good deal for me. I still get to go home at the end of the day and know that my ass belongs to me. In my file, that's a win. I think you might feel the same way. You wouldn't believe the drek I've had to dodge after some of your runs. Yo, no hard feelings, omae. Just to say, I've seen you work. I like it. I think you've got potential, kid. I wanna get in on the action. Got a job for ya."" ----- Okay, so if you're not familiar with the tabletop RPG Shadowrun, here's the gist: It's the year 2072, and we're in Seattle. Megacorporations pretty much own the entire world by now. Magic is back, and so are elves, orks, trolls, dwarves and a plethora of other magical creatures. So, you know, cyberpunk with dragons. You are a team of Shadowrunners. Deniable assets, hired to do the kind of work you don't want seeing the light of day. Plausible deniability is the keyword here; when a corp wants to steal an employee, get a hold of someone else's blueprints for a new cyberarm or have someone, well, disappear, they call you—through a Mr. Johnson, that is. Like in all the good heist movies, everyone has a job to do. Here are a few of the archetypal team roles:
The Face takes care of social interactions. Need a grifter to provide a distraction at a fancy party? Someone to seduce a password out of that wageslave? The Face is your guy—or girl. Sometimes both.[/*]
The Thief steals stuff. Whether using magic, tech or sheer athletic prowess, The Thief is who you go to when you want to get in somewhere—quietly.[/*]
The Street Samurai is a cybernetically enhanced killing machine who's literally got wired reflexes. Master of every weapon, the Street Sam is willing to carve out a piece of himself if it means replacing it with a better, faster part.[/*]
The Hacker lives and breathes the Matrix. Give her thirty seconds alone with a wireless connection, and she'll have turned the building's security system on itself. She knows about your porn collection.[/*]
The Rigger isn't just a mere getaway driver, he's also got a sizable collection of drones. He's got you covered on machines, even if it means he has to load his mind into a drone and become one with it.[/*]
The Magician takes care of the paranormal. These days every corp's got wagemages on patrol, and you need The Magician to deal with that. Whether they're a hermetic mage, casting obscure spells from their digital tomes or a shaman communing with the spirits of the Sprawl, you can be sure The Magician will see that fireball coming before you do.[/*] This list is in no way comprehensive, and one character can do a decent job on covering two different roles (Hacker/Riggers aren't uncommon), so think of what part you'd wanna play in a movie heist, and there's probably a Shadowrun equivalent. ----- Now, I want the details of this to be something we decide together (such as which kind of heist our Shadowrunners will be pulling), but I have some basic ideas about this RP. They're by no means static.
Sprawl Stories is gonna be a relatively short roleplay. By this I mean it has a clear beginning and end as well as a somewhat limited in-game timeframe. Hopefully this should keep us from dragging on too much. If we're still up for it after the mission, we can always do another one.[/*]
A typical Shadowrun follows the four phases: the meet, planning the mission, the mission itself, getting paid. These would be nice to follow, as it gives everyone a chance to shine. Also you get to actually plan a heist.[/*]
Shadowrun is a tabletop game at heart, but there will be no stats and no dice (but if you feel like rolling a d20 yourself to randomize how well your character does, I won't stop ya). I trust everyone to manage the power level and keep things realistic. Well, as realistic as a cyberpunk fantasy universe can get. That said, I am gonna be asking some stat-like questions in the character sheet. Really helps you flesh out your character.[/*]
In the same vein: Although I'm definitely gonna be doing some GM'ing, don't feel like you need me to create every detail of the world. Let's just agree that what gets posted in the IC is canon. So if your character does some research and finds a forgotten sewer tunnel that leads into the building you're hitting, well, then there's a fraggin' sewer tunnel. Just, you know, don't abuse that power. I trust you.[/*] If you wanna know more about the universe, check out , download the rulebook or ask any questions you may have in this thread. Alright? Sound interesting? Sweet! Check out the character sheet below.
Name: What does your mama call you? Street name: Every runner needs a good street name. What do people in the shadows call you by? Race: The main five metatypes in the Sprawl are human, elf, dwarf, ork, and troll, all with their pros and cons. There are other races and metavariants, such as fairies and shapeshifters, but things get really complicated really quickly with metavariants, so talk to me if you wanna stray from the big five. Age: Not strictly necessary, but it might help you get an idea of your character. Dwarves live long lives, elves basically live forever, and both orks and trolls are lucky to see fifty. Of course, in this line of business, anyone is. Appearance: A pic or a description both work for me, pick one or choose both, I'm happy either way. Considering the genre (and the advances of cosmetic technology), I suppose anime pictures and the like are fine. Role: An archetype like "Face" or "Rigger" etc. works fine, but you can specify if you like. What does your character do? Bio: Doesn't have to be very comprehensive, but few people choose the shadows over a comfy corp job of their own volition. Some are simply anti-authoritarian, others have no other options left. Why have you chosen a life of crime? Cyberware: If you're a shadowrunner in 2072, you pretty much gotta have some cyberware (the exception being magicians—as a general rule, the more 'ware you have, the weaker your magic). You're free to make up your own cyberware, but if you want, check out this list and pick some. It gets complicated, so if you're wondering what kind of 'ware would suit your role the best, ask away! Magic: Only applicable for magic-users, of course. Are you an adept, using your magic to augment your senses and physical abilities? Which adept powers do you have? Following a tradition or theme is always cool. Are you a mage, bending the flow mana to your will? What tradition do you follow (For example: Do you believe your power comes from the God of your religion? Do you follow the ancient, dusty tomes of your elders? Digital grimoires of the modern mage?)? What spells do you know? Do you have a mentor spirit? Do you conjure up spirits of your own? Get creative. Are you a shaman, communing with the spirits of nature or even the city itself? Do you follow a totem? Which spirits do you typically command? Do you tend to humbly request their services or command them to do your bidding or something in between? If you want some inspiration for your magic junk (or just want to steal from the books), here's some info that might come in handy. [hider2=Magic] Okay, so while mages and shamans aren't that different (the main difference being that mages often believe the power comes from within themselves, while shamans believe they draw on the power of the world around them), adepts channel their power inwards to perform inhuman feats. These adept powers can be a lot of different things, such as infusing your fists with magic, thus making your punches deadly, to enhancing your sense of smell. Here are a few examples:
Flexibility makes the adept unusually limber and flexible, allowing them to, say, crawl through small ventilation ducts with ease.[/*]
Magic Sense allows the adept to sense the ebb and flow of mana, making it easy to tell when, say, spells are being cast in the vicinity.[/*]
Quick Draw lets an adept draw and use a wepon in one swift, fluid motion—like in the old Westerns.[/*] Spells are pretty straightforward. You can cast simple stuff like a Manabolt or Fireball, Heal someone or cast Invisibility to make you and your comrades invisible to any living eye. Spirits are called from the metaplanes to perform tasks for the magician. Shamans tend to ask favors of spirits, while magicians command them, but this is just a rule of thumb. Generally, a magician will call upon a different type of spirit for different types of task, for example Fire spirits for combat spells and Air spirits for illusions, but if you want to only conjure a simple kind of spirit, we can roll with that. As for Mentor Spirits and Totems, they're basivally the same thing: A spirit or an entity that a magician goes to for help. They may commune directly with a Mentor or Totem Spirit, or simply act in accordance with it. Examples include:
Bear is the great protector. Magicians of Bear are adept at casting combat and healing spells, but if someone under their protection, say, a team mate, gets hurt, a Bear Magician will go berserk, stopping at nothing to get back at whoever hurt them.[/*]
Thunderbird is storm incarnate. Magicians of Thunderbird conjure spirits of Air with ease and are not easily intimidated, but have a hard time resisting the urge to respond to an insult in kind.[/*]
Seductress is the incarnation of desire, and the magicians who follow her are great at illusions and cons. The price for using people's vices is that Seductress magicians must struggle not to pursue any vice or indulgence when it is made available.[/*] You get the idea—following a Mentor has its perks, but it comes with a cost of some sort. Of course, that's nowhere near a comprehensive list. If you wanna mix and match, take a look at the following links. Otherwise, you're perfectly free to make up a spell, power or spirit. Adept Powers Spells Totems/Mentor Spirits Example Spirit Types[/hider2] Gear: Don't go too much overboard here. It's likely that the team will be buying equipment suited for the mission. But if you have some specific weapon (many shadowrunners favor katana for close-quarter combat), outfit, drone, vehicle, etc., this is the place to post it. Other: I never know if I've missed something, so feel free to add anything you like here.
Ask any questions you like. I hope to see some great character sheets so we can start thinking up a heist. Before you start writing up your character sheet, write a post in this thread telling us which role on the team you'd like to occupy. That way we hopefully won't get too much overlap. Remember: Shoot straight, conserve ammo, and never, ever cut a deal with a dragon. Really poor. She never had much and wanted a lot. Her father was never in the picture and her mother never talked about him. When her mother didn't come back one night, when Lei-Ne was ten, Lei-Ne struck out on her own. She grew up on the streets hard. But because of her gift of gab, it wasn't as terrible as it could have been. She got into gambling and into debt, which is why she's now a shadowrunner. She's had her fair share of lovers of all races and genders. However she does prefer men. When she was sixteen she got herself a real job and it looked like she might actually get herself out of debt and off the street. But that wasn't the case because the next year saw her even more in debt and discredited. She assumed a new idenity of Ze Lei-Ne for the first time when she was twenty. It would be her fifth identity. It was then she started working for (Renraku) because they had bought up her debt. It was also about that time when she started experiencing a terrible string of bad luck. She's hoping now since it's been seven years maybe it'll go away. Qualities:

Good: Ambidextrous, Bilingual (English and Mandarin Chinese), First Impression, Trustworthy[/*]
Bad: Bad Luck, In Debt (to Renraku), Compulsive Liar[/*]
Cyberware: Cybereyes: Lowlight; Commlink Adept Powers: Enhanced Perception, Improved Sense, Kinesics, Linguistics, Melanin Control and Voice Control Gear: Ruger, Knifes (3), Combat boots: tres chic, Armor Jacket, Jammer Other: Bad Luck, I thought it would be amusing if it worked both ways.

Name: Thorin Doomstride (Thomas Daniels is what his mamma called him, but he didn’t much like that.) Street name: ‘Doomstride’ ‘Doom’ Race: Troll Age: 32 Appearance: Thorin is actually a little small for a Troll, lacking the bulking muscles and hunched physique one would generally expect, however despite this he still has some very intimidating qualities to him. His horns are large and pointy, and he has a large set of curved incisors – both of which he is not opposed to using as savage weapons when in a pinch. He has several piercings in each ear and is always generally scowling or frowning, rarely choosing to show any emotion other than anger. He takes more pride than most in his appearance, though his own opinions of taste and attractiveness differ from your average runner. He wears generally dark clothing, though the occasional coloured item appears from time to time, and he is never seen out and around without his dark sunglasses . Role: Ex-Enforcer Bio: Thorin has never played well with others, his violent tendencies and mood swings often causing problems. A life filled with aggression quickly lead him to become an enforcer for the highest bidder. It wasn’t bad work, it just never quite paid enough. Several years later and a small stack of debit building and Thorin decided it was time to step things up a little. He never cared for the world of corporations, so it was easy enough for him to become a Shadowrunner, targeting different enemies whenever the money came in. Whatever skills and knowledge he lacks, he makes up for with enthusiasm and a plain simple skill for killin. Cyberware: Thorin is no stranger to cyberware, having had multiple implants and procedures when he has been able to afford it. Anything that makes his work easier and makes it less likely to end up bleeding to death is a good investment as far as he is concerned. Wired Reflexes – One of his first implants, Thorin has had this highly invasive operation which implants a multitude of neural boosters and adrenalin stimulators in strategic locations all over his body. When activated everything around him seems to move in slow motion. The system includes a trigger to turn the wired reflexes on and off allowing him to use it at will. Muscle Augmentation - Using a biological weaving treatment, special vat-grown muscle cables have been braided into Thorin’s existing muscle fibers, enhancing his muscle’s mass and performance, basically making him stronger. Muscle Toner - This treatment has incorporated vat-grown elastic muscle fibers into his existing muscle tissue, increasing his muscle tension and flexibility, making him more agile. Cybereyes – These provide Thorin with 20/20 vision for both eyes and includes an image link and an eye recording unit as standard, he has the following enhancements: Low-Light Vision - This accessory allows him to see normally in light levels as low as starlight. Total darkness still renders him as blind as an unmodified person. Thermographic Implant - This enhancement enables vision in the infrared portion of the spectrum, enabling Thorin to see heat patterns. Thermographic vision is a very practical way to spot living beings in areas of total darkness. Gear: Thorin generally carries the small assortment of firearms with him at all times, having numerous holsters on his person. Most of his weapons he has acquired on the job – taken from the occasional corpse or holdout box. Ruger Super Warhawk – Thorin’s first gun and the only one he has actually bought. It is a heavy revolver that looks as scary as the holes it tears through things. A tad on the noisy side but very effective. Remington Roomsweeper – One of Thorin’s favourites, this short-barreled “shotgun pistol” can be loaded with both shot rounds as well as slugs. It’s a very effective pistol capable of stopping most foes in their tracks. Ceska Black Scorpion – This classic machine pistol combines concealability with fearsome burst fire capabilities. It even comes with an integral folding stock for easy storage, and comes in very handy in a pinch. Ranger Arms SM-4 – This sniper rifle features a silencer, imaging scope, and a rigid stock with shock pad. The SM-4 disassembles completely in order to fit into a standard briefcase, assembling or disassembling it can take a few moments – Thorin only takes this with him when the mission specifically calls for it. Longsword – Thorin has a simple blade which he uses when things get up close and personal. It’s not as keen as it once was and is also stained somewhat on the blade, but it’s still just as deadly. Other: Drinks and smokes like each day may be his last.

Name: Ivellios Street name: Thovren Race: Elf Age: 28 Appearance: Role: Rigger Bio: Ivellios's mother was a shoemaker, a street term for someone specializing in forging identities and papers for illegal citizens. And his father was a hacker who loaned out his services to runner teams for the right price. But he never left his home, his skills were enough that it wasn't necessary for most operations. They were born to the lower class, but their earnings from their trade (and never hacing actually gotten caught) managed to get them a modest, middle level apartment, though far from the penthouse suite. They never had SIN numbers and were never recognized as citizens. As such their child was born to the same fate. And without SIN numbers one cannot get a real job in any corperation's holdings. His father taught him many of his computer skills but Ivellios never really had any apptitude for weaving and controlling the matrix. His skills stayed with hardware and physical objects. When he was ten he made his first robot of his own design, it was a crude and rusty old piece fo crap but it worked. Mostly. Needless to say his father was impressed. It is probably for the best that he took to computers so readily as he was born fairly frail, Even for an elf. And his allergy while rare is very inconvenient for anyone but someone in the shadowrunners profession. Recent years as a shadow runner have forced his body to become more fit and trimmed out of necessity. But he still retains some of the qualities from his youth, despite the current hardening of his body. Much to the charinge of his father, who stayed safe at his home during missions he was hired to do, Ivellios found work as a shadowrunner in his youth, one of the only options someone in his position, with limited wealth and no SIN number is able to do. Aside from run with one of the local gangs. But unlike his father whose proficiency with the matrix means he hardly ever has to leave his private set up at home. Ivellios found his skills controlling robotics, turrets, drones and cars which often required him to be inch away from whatever it was he was trying to use. And it often ment he did not have to work in the day, though bright neon and other lights of the nightlife still blurred his vision. It was part of the reason he lost his arm during his second job. Due to his allergy his skin feels incredibly uncomfortable under direct sunlight. And his eyes can quite literally be in pain from to much light, but other people would not consider those amounts out of the ordinary. To him they were blinding and debilitating. Not being able to see clearly is a major handicap, especially when working with some of the toys he works with. Needless to say the job did not go well. Two members of the team died and Ivellios lost an arm in the immediate aftermath. Unfortunatly they didn't even manage to complete the job, so they didn't get paid. Which made things a pain, he needed new drones, new equipment. And a new arm, He also decided to get new eyes. Mabye cybereyes wouldn't have the same issue as his old ones? Mabye they could stand up to intense lights without getting him maimed in the future? Despite the cost It was a small price to pay in his opinion. He was forced to scrounge what he could from the scrap bins for his drones and hardware. And help from his parents for the new cyberware. Cyberlimbs unlike eyes, aren't cheap. Even an obvious and base model can run in the thousands. But he couldn't make do without an arm in his line of work. And no matter how pissed his parents were and the near endless ranting from his mother on endangering himself and making the wrong choices in careers, they still lent him the money. So one painful surgery later a new Thovren emerged into the streets. A few small jobs since that incident have let him become accustomed to his new arm and eyes. And give him some capital to afford new toys and even his own apartment. Though it is lower class, and in a far seedier area of town than his parents, who he is slowly paying back for the loaned money. At his fathers very loud and harsh insistance. Positive traits: Bilingual (Sperethial, all elves know this language) Aptitude (repair and Hard-wiring) Codeslinger (Drone commands, firewalls and software) Juryrigger Negative traits: Low pain tolerance, Incompetence (Melee combat of any kind), mild Allergy to sunlight. Which is why his face is covered constantly while outside to protect himself Cyberware: Control Rig Datajack Touchlink -Cyberarm (Basic quality, right forearm/hand only, obvious) Cybereyes (Rating1, basic quality,) Gear: -Portable toolkit -A standard 'Avalon' commlink head peice, AR gloves, and AR goggles with an image link for his drones. -Armour vest (as seen in picture) -GMC bulldog Step van, And and slightly beatup piece of garbage that he keeps running as smooth as he possibly can. Useful for a getaway vehicle in a pinch for the entire team. But also serves as a mobile workshop and command center for use of his drones. Its a common enough vehicle not to be questioned, well not often at least. -1 standard Credstick -Gasmask (as seen) -1 Gm Nissan Doberman crawler drone. About the size of the animal which it is named this most basic of drone models for the aspiring shadowrunner. It is mounted with am AK-97 carbine with four 50 round belts of ammunition. -2 MTC fly spy- minidrones, these drones are shaped to look like dragonflies, at the end of each wing are rotor blades that rotate and tilt to allow incredible amneuverablility. -1 jury rigged small drone, A metal orb as large as an orcs head is held a lot by two rotor blades that fold up for easy storage and transportation. At least thats the idea. The piece itself is still in Thovren's van being fine tuned and uploaded with the right software. He is also looking to attach some form of pistol to its underside. But that is still a work in progress. -Ares Predator mark I heavy pistol, the higher grade Marks are a little out of his budjet at the moment. Though he hopes to fix that. -4 15 round clips on his person for his sidearm.

Name: Audrey Behan Street name: h4k/ and Red Five Race: Human Age: 26 Appearance: Red prizes herself on her good looks. When she's not running, she makes a point of keeping her head shaved, her lips and brows dyed, and her wardrobe impeccable. Even the datajack at the back of her head is engraved. Role: Hacker extraordinaire! Bio: Being born SINless is both a curse and a blessing. For Audrey, it was mostly the latter. Sure, even in CalFree it's hard to get a job, somewhere to live, or even Matrix access without a System Identification Number, especially when you're on your own, but at least you're off the grid. When you're not being monitored by the authorities, you're free—ish. People are crazy about celebrities in FreeCal, and people are always looking for the freshest, fastest hacker to get dirt on them. There's money in dirt. And apparently, it's not risk-free. You forget to edit the access log, people catch on. That's how Audrey ended up with a brand new Criminal SIN. It's like being SINless, only worse. And when you're in deep drek, where do you go? Seattle. Ares aren't very squeamish about criminal SINs, as long as they're not from the UCAS. And they're very aggressive in their recruiting. Audrey'd barely been across the border for a week before she had corporate housing, dental, the whole shebang. Of course, her ass was being monitored 24/7. Coming from a life of relative freedom, this did not suit Audrey well. But getting into a corp job is a lot easier than it is getting out. Once you sign the contract, they own your hoop. It took a long time, changing files a little bit at a time over several months, but Audrey was finally able to give 'em the slip, just for a second. And a second was all she needed. She plunged into the shadows where her life might be in danger, but at least she's free. It's been three years since she got out from under Ares' watch, and she thinks the cost of looking for her has outweighed the benefit by now. But with the corps, you never know, omae. Cyberware: Cybereyes with low-light, thermographic, vision enhancements, smartlink and flare compensation And of course enhancements to speed up the hackin': Attention coprocessor Encephalon Reaction Enhancer Gear: Clothes can be replaced, guns are dirt cheap, and commlinks for daily use are no good after a week anyway. What's really worth hanging on to is a ¥33,000 Novatech Airware 'link with a custom OS and ergonomic software. It's fast as it is, but when working, Red connects a fiberoptic cable from the Novatech to her datajack. Once you've tried hot-sim, you're never going back for long. Other:Speaks less-than-decent Japanese. Red Five's a bit of a media junkie. At any given moment, she's most likely got at least three different feeds and forums on AR. Don't worry, it probably won't distract her. Probably.

Name: Shina Windcaller Street Name: Mouse Race: Elf Age: 20 Appearance: Standing at 5'4" Mouse is particularly short for an elf, She generally likes to wear at least a little bit of traditional garb. Role: Street Shaman Bio: Born and raised in Las Vegas Mouse was raised on the mean streets, both of her parents were gangers in the Comanche Mafia, and from a young age she was exposed to the sex, drugs, gambling, and violence that made up most of the city. By the age of twelve she had been in or near enough conflicts that she had developed an almost extraordinary ability to hide, that along with her small size earned her the nickname "Mouse". Whenever the slightest hint of conflict erupted, she'd be gone, hiding behind a box, or in a dark corner somewhere. Regardless of where it was, it was doubtful you'd find her without help. She had pretty much resigned herself to the fact that that would just be who she was for the rest of her life, her parents insisted on teaching her how to use a gun, and teaching her to fight, but still no matter the situation she preferred to hide. Then she had her Awakening, she was fourteen at the time, she accidentally summoned a tiny city spirit from a dumpster behind Caesar's Palace, after a fight erupted between the Comanche Mafia, and the casino's hired Lone Star operatives. The spirit was small, and likely would have only inconvenienced someone looking to harm her. but nonetheless, it stood vigilant until it was clear that everything had calmed down. After letting it sink in, and realizing what this meant, she was ecstatic, a whole new world of possibilities was opened to her. Unfortunately she wasn't the only one excited by the news, the mob was also quite excited to add a new magician to their ranks. She was quickly put under the tutelage of one of the gangs more experienced shamans. She took to shamanic magic like glue, she found her totem very quickly, and by the time she was sixteen was capable of summoning formidable spirits. Thusly she was sent out to do her first actual gangwork. It was a simple shakedown of a local business, unfortunately the shopkeeper didn't see it as such. As soon as she saw the gun she fled, her presence didn't prove necessary anyways, but her fleeing was unacceptable. Once her comrades found her, behind the building flanked by a spirit that looked like some kind of trash golem. Instinctively, sensing safety she banished her guardian. Unfortunately, it was false-security, as soon as it disappeared they began to beat on her ruthlessly. This repeated itself a few times, she'd go with a group, things would escalate, she'd run, and she'd be beaten. By the time she was eighteen she had tried running multiple times, every time she was hunted down though, once she even got away, only to quickly realize she had no money, or job skills. At least not enough to get out of Vegas before the Mafia found her again, so the cycle repeated, eventually she managed to overcome her instincts and stay and fight most of the time, though there were still occasional relapses. One such case occurred when she was nineteen, the gang was robbing an armored truck full of unencrypted credsticks, and it's escort. She'd had a bad feeling about it the entire time, but she managed to steel her nerves. She summoned a city spirit, and the fighting erupted. She watched as casualties mounted on both dies, her closest friend died in that firefight, one of the few that never had ill-will towards her. She fired too, probably even killed a guard, but eventually it became too much, and she fled once more. Shortly after, the gunfire stopped, silence, but noone from the gang came to punish her, just the same city spirit she had summoned to assist her. After a few moments she calmed herself wand went to the location the fighting had been, the armored truck was wide open, but noone seemed to be alive. After taking a few minutes to grieve, she realized the opportunity that had fallen in her lap, she could leave, go anywhere, and support herself at least for awhile with that much money. She grabbed as much as she could carry, and began to make her way to the first city that came to mind... Seattle. After awhile the money began to run low though, Mouse made a decision, she bought a new gun, and decided to try her hand at being a Shadowrunner. Cyberware: Never touched the stuff. Magic: - Summoning: Mouse is fairly adept at summoning, favoring City Spirits or Forest Spirits. Though the vast majority of her summons are city spirits. - Totem: Mouse's totem is as you would have guessed, mou- Nah just kidding, it's Raccoon. - Illusions: Mouse is a fairly skilled illusionist, and on many occasions used her abilities to disguise her fellow gang members from security. --Spells: Physical Mask (Need to get past some guards, but don't want to fight, maybe if you looked like someone else? This spell allows Mouse to make anyone she touches look like anything she wishes as long as they maintain the same general body type), Phantasm (Mouse can create a vivid illusion of anything she has seen before, just one thing, but it could still be useful), Swarm(Creates an illusion over an area within which everyone believes they're being swarmed by bugs, a great distraction.) - Manipulation: In her own opinion, her weakest school of magic, mouse is still somewhat adept at manipulation magic. -- Spells: Armor (mouse can create a glowing teal field around someone that helps protect from physical attacks.) Animate (Allows mouse to make inanimate objects move according to their structure. A suit of armor walking down a hallway is a great distraction.), Influence (Allows Mouse to implant a single suggestion in a single victim's mind. Mana Barrier (Mouse can create an invisible barrier that impedes spells, spirits, and the like) - Astral Magic: Mouse can of course see auras, though she is pretty terrible at assensing. She has also recently been learning how to astral project with limited success. Gear: Mouse doesn't carry much with her, she carries a Savalette Guardian and a machete, Other: Mouse is exceptionally paranoid of anyone from Pueblo, always thinking they've come for her to punish her for her desertion.

Name: Jack Rinner Street name: Mr. Contrakt Race: Human Age: 29 Appearance: Role: Street Samurai Bio: Rumors can be a mans legacy, his ballad, or his curse... in Jacks situation, it is all of the above. He spent his days earning a salary researching magical logistics and the numerous applications for them all. Roman and his sister often got chances to examine certain books, grimoires and artifacts Aztech managed to "aquire". Usually Reina would decipher the many different languages and/or energies associated with their projects while Roman looked at the general applications for such projects in daily life. Commercializing and mass producing magical "blueprints" in which could be casted for either many different applications both in millitary and civillian use. One day at work, they were given an artifact that seemed slightly different than what they were used to. A golden parchment with strange writings and web like decorations on it roughly the size of a flyer. Roman and his sister were constantly under armed watch while researching it and weren't allowed to use their usual research lab to decipher the project. It was fairly obvious whatever this thing was had great magical power and potential. Reina couldn't sleep for days after trying to decipher its writings and ornate markings that made no logical sense. She became infactuated with it and soon asked for more time to research its origin but was quickly denied. Its origin obvously kept secret as well as pretty much everything else about it. Reina was good at what she did, often nicknamed Rosetta stone comolimenting her ability to decode and see things others could not. One night, Roman woke out of a dead sleep only to hear a loud crackling noise from his sisters room. A large surge of energy knocked the door straight off its hinges and tossed clear through the opposite window of his 50 story apartment. Men in uniforms brandishing rifles aimed at them shouting, asking the location of the artifact. Roman shouted and cried desperately that he knew nothing as the men pushed their way into his sisters room. Reina standing ready as if prepared for a fight summoned a concrete golem in the center of her tiny bedroom easily pushing back at the several armed uniforms. "Roman, take this and run!" Reina said as she tossed him the revolver. Roman hesitated as he watched his sister brandish a fireball in each hand and lob them in the other direction. Something he's never seen her do before. Roman attempted to draw his pistol and attempted to summon up something that could help but his sister saw his attempt at protecting her and pushed him straight out the window with a whole hearted smile on her face. "Run away and live, then come find me after." She whispered as she stood by the windowsill, watching her brother plummet 50 stories. Roman doesn't remember hitting the ground... but he promises that he will run, delete his identity, grow strong enough and find a way to rescue his sister... and what better way than to become a shadowrunner? Cyberware: Retinal smartlink heads up display (Hud)- pretty self explanitory and quite basic. Provides enhanced situational awareness and basic mission data. It also has a built in clock and calorie counter. Magic: Hermetic summoner deals in the conjuration of beings using strict alchemical circles as a base. Using mathmatics and logic to summon the precise conjuring or item. His power is based on logic and the materials around him. Using his surrounding elements to summon creatures or objects into this world using a mixture of magical "blueprints" and surrounding resources. Lesser spells can be used within a couple seconds while major conjurations take much longer. Spells: Lesser spells: Demon Door The foundation of all his creations composed of a magical circle in which he reconfigures the internals of the circle to either push in surrounding resources and pull out either a summoning or an object. Varing in size from the diameter of a tennis ball to the diameter of a human. The drain on him varies wildly depending on what he tries to summon. Soul Wire Creating a very thin red wire from a drop of his own blood used as a type of tripwire to either use in conjuction with magical traps or to simply detect enemies when tripped. If the wire is touched or broken no matter where he is, he will know. Roman can create multiples of these but need magic to keep sustained thus a constant minor drain is needed. Demon Trap Working in conjunction with soul wire or alone as a timed trap. A small gathering of a certain resource (earth, metal, gas, water, fire, etc) is forced into a tiny demon door and released with moderate force. This requires an outside source of resources to be effective but can still be used simply with air. Air most of the time is non lethal and will only push someone off their feet. Major Spells: Summon Creature This is Romans favorite spell and also his most powerful. Using a demon door as a base, He gathers his surrounding resources to create summoned elementals or with blood and flesh (others or his own) can summon creatures from the other side. These summons take time and much concentration to use. The control over these summonings vary wildly and have been known to disobey at times if the summon has a high amount of willpower. The amount of drain on him is dependant on the size of the summon. (Exe. A halfling sized creature can be summoned for roughly six hours, human sized last roughly an hour and anything larger lasts less than a couple minutes at best) Summon Wall Exactly what it means. He can create a wall out of whatever resources he has around him. Walls take time, energy and resources to create. Multiple Demon doors are often required to build anything bigger than the size of a human and its density is also dependant on resources used. Walls he creates can be broken back down but require time and energy. Its often faster to just knock them down with force. (Providing they aren't made from a highly dense and stable material) Gear: Roman usually travels light aside from a couple ammo pouches and a few vials of blood. (Summoning purposes) he tends to keep his trusty revolver with him at all times. Roman's trusty revolver is pretty old school but is no slouch. It packs a suprising punch and can fire modern ammunition in multiple calibers with a switch of the cylinder. Its usually carried in a matching old fashioned holster by his left hip. (He is a lefty) it was given to him as a present by his sister.

Name: Thomas D. Thomas grew up in a good family, he was the youngest of three. Both his parents worked for a corporation, now forgotten, that collapsed when the kid was only fifteen years old. To help out his parents with their new money issues he got a ‘job’ as a courier and later as an enforcer. His parents also had lent money from some shady types to help with their money problem. As with most deals with shady people things went south… Interest rates skyrocketed and the brand new enforcer came home to a burned out house with four corpses to greet him. The young man took all his sadness, his despair, his anger and his hate and he kept it all inside. He vouched to end the people who did this, and he eventually did. Tommy grew up to Thomas, grew up from an enforcer to a hit man, a good one at that. Thomas got himself submerged more and more in this underworld that had taken his parents and his two sisters. The easy going young man had turned into an arrogant powerhouse. Thomas got augmented, implanted, he was jacked in and jacked up. After a rather unfortunate encounter with what was called a street samurai the 29 year old decided that it was time for even more self improvement. He and his dented ego took all his money and started training again. He also got a couple more improvements, learned how to use a katana and murder the families of the people who had done the same to his. As a final test he decided to look for the samurai that did him in for. Long story short, he found him, they battled, Thomas almost died and the street samurai who went by Vortex was no more. The repairs cost small fortune and Thomas did some time in jail for this, silver lining his ego was no longer dented and he was as arrogant as ever.
