September 6th 2034 The Following Afternoon Luci gazed out the window trying to ignore the throbbing behind her eyes that were covered by her clearly useless large sunglasses. She knew it was rude to have them on inside but the light was just too much for her eyes to handle. Even though she did not get fully drunk last night, drinking three or four shots of Tequila and not eating or drinking anything else takes its toll still. Her stomach flipped and she groaned quietly trying to focus on the beautiful garden outside the window Akira had sat her by. He seemed to not notice her indisposed state when he came banging on her door that morning. She answered the door with wild hair, bloodshot eyes, and clammy skin even, almost let out a string of profanities before realizing that it was him. Either he was ignoring it or he really didn’t notice it was hard to tell from the stoic mask he had on. Luci sighed crossing her jeaned legs continuing with her staring out at the perfectly red roses a scantily clad maid was watering, she had been hesitant to come back to this place, so many horrid memories. The fact that her father or that head maid could walk around the corner at any moment terrified her. She was a little bundle of nerves as Akira escorted her through the front door but she tried her best to hide it from him. Having this meeting with his father could not be easy and she worried for him, especially when his friend walked up to them in the entryway. He didn’t smile or greet Akira in a friendly way, didn’t even respond when Akira introduced them just a slight nod in her direction. And now she was here sitting in a dead silent hallway while they talked. That had been five maybe ten minutes ago, and sat as still as she could without squirming, as soon as they came out she rose to her feet looking at Akira expectantly with wide eyes. She simply nodded at his quick statement while they entered in the elevator and Luci was once again met with silence. She shuffled her feet to try and appease the suffocating quiet when Akira spoke. She tried to hide the small smile that dominated her lips and looked Akira dead in the eye, “Well I think I can handle ‘not safe’ Akira. I’m with you through this entirely.”
