Vera Getting to sleep was a struggle. For Vera, it was always a bit of a challenge trying quiet her mind long enough for exhaustion to take over, but with Amanda's snores ripping through the silence like a chainsaw, it was practically impossible. Still, she dozed in an out of consciousness the whole night until she decided enough was enough and got herself out of bed a little more than an hour before the siren went off. Quietly, she got dressed and wandered around campus by herself for a while, the scenery easily occupying her maybe a half an hour, and came back to freshen up. She reclined on her bed and shot out a text to Ethan. She figured he would be awake by now and, in a few moments, she received a response. A small smile pulled on his lips. Then she busted out a book and started reading for the remainder of her time. She didn't know what to expect of Amanda, but her boisterous and slightly maniacal way of waking stunned her. "Good morning?" Vera could only watch with a completely puzzled look on her face as shouted, struck a pose, and shouted some more. Quickly, she averted her eyes when she dropped all her clothes. Amanda might not have cared if she saw her, but there were some images she could do without. Boy-Girl. Very original. The name didn't get a reaction out of her. "Bye," She said with a half-hearted wave and returned to her book. Personally, Vera wasn't much of a breakfast person, but she would go if not just to catch up with some friends. With that thought in mind, she closed her book and set out for the cafeteria. Yesterday served as a firm reminder of climate on the island and she dressed more accordingly this time. A thin, dark blue t-shirt with short sleeves adorned her figure along with a pair of jeans. She liked the shirt because it matched her hair, but it made her silhouette more feminine than she liked. Once she got to the cafeteria, she skipped the buffet line and went straight for the coffee. The thought of eating so early made her stomach churn, but a hot mug of dark roasted coffee was right up her alley. Her eyes scanned the tables for some familiar faces. It was crowded enough for her to have to make a couple of passes for spotting anyone, but she saw Deb, Tess and Dana. But way in the corner, she thought she saw Chris, but there were two one-armed guys off in that corner. She made up her mind and took herself, and her coffee, to Deborah. "Morning, Debs," She greeted warmly. Wait, she knew that look on her face and the distinct flavor of curiosity in the air. Reflexively, she pulled back as much a she could, giving Deborah her privacy, but now she was curious too. Vera lowered herself into the seat beside her. "You see anything... interesting lately?" Vee wasn't one to spread gossip, but she knew that sometimes it could be too good for someone to keep to themselves.
