The manager congratulated Donny on how quickly one of his cookies sold. Donny took the praise humbly and continued to make the orders of pasties. He was no longer wearing the worn and ragged cloth he had when he came in, and was instead changed into a much cleaner chef's outfit, even had a little hat to keep his hair in. The only thing he kept on was his shoes. Donny's test first began when the manager gave him an order of cakes and pasties that the shop needed to make today. And not ones to do something like recycle old cakes or even keep them for longer than a day, Donny was expected to make them from scratch. While most would need guidance around the unfamiliar kitchen, Donny showed his chops by immediately setting off to ensuring that he was as clean as he could get, and started cooking. Before long he already had five cakes cooking in the oven, and had the icing and other materials needed to decorate them ready. The manager was impressed with how quickly Donny was able to get everything together, even complying with the manager's random request to make him cookies. As Donny cooked, the manager also asked Donny question. It was than that Donny made it clear to the manager of his home situation; that he was practically homeless, having no job before this one nor a place of residence. How he was also looking to find a job for his friend, whom he hopes could work here. The manager was able to hide his feelings about this (The mask helped) and also made it clear to Donny that he didn't care about any of that; as long as Donny did a good job here, he would hire him. This kindness was almost unrealistic to Donny, and he wondered if this was a trap. Donny felt so paranoid about the manager's generosity that any minute how, he expected the manager to take off his mask and reveal that he's a demon that wants to take Donny's hopes and dreams. But that never happened. Instead the manager left the kitchen to get some papers that he wanted Donny to look over. In the mean time, the orc took out the cakes and began to frost them.
