Y'know, I thought better of some people in this thread before reading it."Why are you caring about dumb video game shit when there are worse problems in the world?" is basically the same as "omg stop complaining about your life there are people who have it way worse." GJ sinking to the level of shitlords on Facebook with your faulty logic. That shit is dumb. It's entirely reasonable to care about things pertaining to one of your hobbies (ie video games), regardless of whether or not you also care about other things happening in the world. People are capable about caring about more than one thing at a time, and big international problems do not make smaller problems go away or stop being problems.-1 Jorick Respect Points for Dervish and Idlehands. I'd also deduct points from Sable, but I have no idea who the fuck he/she is so they're already at zero. Keep up the good work, fuckbunts.
Nowhere did I say you can't give a shit about multiple issues. My amusement/ annoyance lies with the people who are up in arms over this but don't seem to give a shit about anything else. Sure, it sucks game journalism is subject to bias and genitalia related corruption, but it's nothing new, and real world newspapers suffer from the same issues, always have, always will. It's just remarkable that people are acting like Zoe Quinn is like some video game Monika Lewinsky crossed with Watergate or whatever. Sure, it's annoying but it's not worth moral outrage, especially in light of everything else happening in the world at the moment. It's one thing to talk about it; it's quite another to get in a massive derpbate about it. Should people care and want answers? Sure. But the amount of passion and indignity shown over something that frankly isn't that big of a deal ( especially in an industry that's full of questionable shit) is kind of like freaking out over finding out an athlete has been doping up. Sure, it brings up the question if anything the athlete did was ever legitimate and it might have screwed somebody out of a championship or some shit, but the average person shouldn't get worked up over it. Let the authorities do their thing and move on. This isn't like finding out EA is funding all their games with blood diamonds and they're financing an African warlord. This is maybe, possibly a woman sleeping with journalists to get good reviews for her game. Whoopie. I'm not saying ignore it. I'm saying stop overreacting to something that really isn't a major issue. It's just fucked up how riled up people are over something like this when they seem oblivious/ don't care that a shitload of people are dying. If somebody is concerned over both things, fair enough. They aren't whom I'm addressing.
