You are NOT overreacting. If anything, the people you're around aren't taking all this seriously enough. You deserve to be respected and sometimes you have to demand it, and it can be uncomfortable and unpleasant, but it's necessary for your own well-being. If people don't understand you need to [i]make[/i] them understand, otherwise they can't help you. Don't just let it go, the people that did this are criminals, their own actions have condemned them and they deserve only the worst.
