Long live summer! ----------------------- Hi guys. It’s Blitz here again with another summer camp roleplay… At least, I’m pretty sure I’ve done one of these before. Well, it doesn’t matter. I’m glad you’ve taken some interest in this! This roleplay, as you may have guessed, will be a modern roleplay set in a pretty chill-ass summer camp if you ask me. Camp Corona is known for its, er, lenient rules. Please keep in mind, however, that this doesn’t mean you can do whatever the hell you want. If any large scale fights break out, or any other public display of general unmorality, there will be consequences (from the camp). In other words, you’re ideally not supposed to cause trouble at the camp, but this doesn’t mean you can’t. Understand? Good. Now let’s go over the rules. Rules of the Roleplay (that you cannot break): 1. Follow basic roleplaying etiquette: no godmodding without permission, no autohitting, no mature/18+ content (unless taken to PM), etc. You should be familiar with these. 2. Try to use proper grammar and spelling while in character. I could care less about this while in the OOC though. 3. Don’t try to passively provoke a user through roleplaying. That’s just immature. 4. Don’t get worked up over something ridiculous. I don’t know how old you are, but try to act like a civilized human being in the OOC. 5. Essentially just use your common sense. 6. Inform me via PM or on the OOC if you’re going to be away for a few days, or if you no longer can/want to participate. Disappearing without a trace is a real pain in our collective asses. 7. We all know there’s going to be romance. In accordance with rules one and five, fade to black when things get too mature. I reserve the right to make any changes to this list at any time. Alright! Now that we have the formalities out of the way, I´d like to take this time to clarify a few things that were mentioned in the “camp pamphlet” at the beginning. Camp Corona is a summer camp located in northern California, and its campers can be from all over the country. The main part of the camp is right on the beach, which is your typical California beach: white sand, turquoise water, palm trees, all the good stuff. There’s also a net set up for any pick-up games of volleyball. Just a few hundred feet inland, however, is the beginning of a pretty extensive forest. There are paths you can hike on, though you’re free to wander wherever you like and maybe discover something interesting. Between the forest and the beach, there’s a bit of plain, flat land. The camp itself consists of a few main buildings you should be aware of:
The cabins: These are located all around the camp, some closer to the beach and some closer to the forest. Each cabin member is given a key to get into their cabin, and each member is responsible for the security of their belongings. I’ll be assigning cabins upon approval of your character sheet. The cafeteria: A typical camp dining hall with indoor and outdoor seating. It has buffet-style eating that is available 24 hours a day (though the food selection late at night won’t be quite as extensive). All food is prepaid, so it’s “free.” The Activities Center: For all your administrative needs. This is where the counselors stay. It’s a decently-sized building that has quite a few uses. Besides being the place where you check in, you can: create events, check any upcoming events, visit the nurse, file a complaint/ask for help/ask questions, and pretty much any other miscellaneous hiccup you can think of. Outside there is a basketball court and a tennis court. The Pier: Not a building, but oh well. It's just a pier jutting into the ocean. Good views. Perfect for fishing.
Oh, and a side note! Campers don’t have cars at camp. No running away please. I might add more to this, because I can’t shake the feeling that I’m forgetting something. Oh well. Next are a some lists you can refer to. Now is the moment you’ve been waiting for! Here is the format for the character sheet.
Name: (First and last, middle optional) Nickname(s): (What they prefer to be called, if applicable) Gender: (Male/female) Height: (Meters or feet or whatever. Make sure this and the weight are realistic! Taller people weigh more than shorter people. Fit people weigh more that not-so-fit people. Use a BMI calculator if you need to!) Weight: (Pounds or kilograms or whatever. Again, make it realistic.) Age: (15-18) Appearance: (Picture or description. No anime, please!) Personality: (Doesn’t need to be too fancy. Just some basic traits.) Short History: (Optional! One’s history isn’t too important in a roleplay like this, unless you feel it’s necessary to mention it beforehand. You can always discuss your character’s history in character, but some find it easier to have something to refer back to.) Other: (Anything else? Are they left handed? Do they play an instrument? Can they tie a cherry stem into a knot using just their mouth?)
Again, I might make some changes to this as time goes on. Don’t forget to make suggestions/ask questions! One final note… Don’t be a jackass. :-)
