A collab between Little Alice, Chromehound and Gerontis. Summary : Deciding on how they would finish their section, Kiyomi and Hayate meet up with somebody unexpected. Then they are forced to make their way to the surface and fast!.
"That sounds like a very good plan indeed. We should also make sure we can get out of this place in a hurry if necessary." Glancing around, Hayate wasn't sure just how far they'd fallen from the stairs that they took. He knew that they had gone a long way down, and he hoped that there was another way out. ''I know a way out. It will only make us appear from quite some distance. And I doubt that the others will understand that I have such a technique at my disposal.'' Kiyomi explained, thinking about the teleportation technique of the Dragon Lotus. Then she got an idea. Though still not fond of them, she made one shadow clone. Without uttering a word, the clone started to jog to where they had been before, the room where they had encountered Change. ''Lets get this over with. This place is just sickening.'' Kiyomi mumbled, walking through the destroyed lab. Already, Kiyomi was thinking how they would get back up with that metal door blocking their way back and all those small creatures at the staircase. Putting her right hand at the handle of Samehada, Kiyomi lifted the blade and let it rest on her shoulder. --- Some time later It was all set. Explosive tags had been placed around pillars that they had found. Together with some other rooms that they had encountered. But no opponent or creature that tried to get at them. It made Kiyomi wonder about several things as she walked back into the first destroyed room. If it had been a place where they kept strange creatures and people like the two they had encountered, where were the rest? She doubted that they were just gone like that. Did the enemy know that they were coming? Was it just a diversion or way to stall them while the majority would move to a new location? ''How are you holding up?'' Kiyomi asked, glancing at Hayate. The fact that they hadn't had to fight anything in awhile had allowed Hayate to rest a little bit. Turning to face Kiyomi he offered her a brief smile. "I am doing better actually. Thank you." Cracking his knuckles, Hayate was actually a little bothered by the fact that they hadn't encountered any enemies, it was making him wary. "How are you Kiyomi-chan?" ''Considering that I am now low on tags, wire and kunai, I am doing fine.'' Kiyomi said. Turning around, she had been using kunai, wire and tags to form way to make sure that they could detonate the explosions from a distance. Of course, it mean that she wouldn't be able to use those three tools anymore. But without having faced an enemy, Kiyomi was hoping that they would just have to detonate the rigged pillars and then head back. Crouching, she formed the kai handsignal, causing the first explosive tag to explode. Soon others were triggered by the explosions, causing the room they were in to tremble. ''Lets get out of here, before we are getting buried as well.'' Kiyomi ordered, rising up as she would turn around and start jogging towards the room where they had killed Change. ''If we only knew how Ken-senpai and his team are doing.'' Nodding his head, Hayate turned on his heel and followed after Kiyomi quickly. He had no urge to stay here any longer than he had to. "I trust that Kensuke can take care of them. He is strong like you Kiyomi-chan. And I guess we will find out soon enough." While they jogged back, Kiyomi looked more worried. She wasn't doubting Kensuke's combat prowess or abilities. Not in the slightest, but it was that he wasn't fighting on his own. He had to look after two genins as well. ''I hope we do.'' Slowing down, Kiyomi entered first the large room. The shadow clone had taken a position behind the sealed door, but was staring at it. Forming the required handsignal, the shadow clone was dismissed. ''Do you... hear that?'' Kiyomi asked, as the sound became louder. Something or somebody was knocking on the other end of the door. Then a second later, it collapsed. With some dust and debris falling apart, it was hard to see who stood on the other side. ''Sensei!'' The voice surprised Kiyomi as she looked like she was star-struck. ''Eeeeeehhh?! Leo?'' After she said the name, the young boy came walking into the room with a wide grin and his hands at the back of his head. There was blood staining his clothes, but he seemed unharmed. ''I was hoping I could use enough of my Crystal Release to break through that door.'' "Leo-san!" Hayate exclaimed. He was excited to see the boy, but also a little confused as to why he was here. "How did you get down here? Are you hurt?" Moving closer, Hayate kept his eyes peeled for any signs of danger. This place was making him paranoid. And the same was for Kiyomi. She wasn't sure if it was really Leo, but after quickly looking at the rubble, she could see some crystal shards. Yes, that was thus really Leo. Regaining her composure, Leo shrugged. ''We waited for some time and then heard an explosion. After I requested Kenta-san's permission, I decided to check the situation. When I saw a closed off entrance or rather hole, I wanted to ignore it. But then I decided to take a look. Took me a bit before I managed to got most boulders away with some explosive tags and my Crystal Release, but it was no problem.'' His grin came back on his face as he planted his fists at his hips. It seemed he was rather proud of his achievements. ''Though that empty staircase was kind of scary. Even more when there were this strange creatures.'' Leo frowned as he briefly looked over his shoulder. After hearing what Leo told them, Kiyomi had an idea why he had not that much trouble of getting down. Probably using the Crystal Release armor, he was able to defend himself against those buggers while able to attack them back. Meaning that the blood wasn't his. Good. Letting out sigh, Kiyomi wondered what they should do now. Understanding that it was really Leo, Hayate smiled and clasped the other boy's shoulder. "Well it's good to see you Leo. We could use the help." Turning to look back at Kiyomi he raised an eyebrow. "So, should we head up?" Before anybody could answer, the floor started to shake. Probably at first it would seem like the explosions that were rigged around the pillars. But soon it was followed by a high pitched roar. Though the hallway could be seen, something was approaching their way. Something big as the lights in the hallway started to fade away. Or being blocked as something was heading towards them. Hearing the sound, Kiyomi looked quickly over her shoulder. It was clear what they had to do. ''Seems that is our answer! Lets go back! Now!'' Kiyomi said, starting to into the dark place where the long staircase was. This time she would use again her Sparkle Technique, flicking her left wrist to generate some lightning. Samehada started to shiver several times, but Kiyomi didn't need her greatsword telling that the imminent danger would spell big trouble. Leo was a bit surprised, but after making one handsignal he followed Kiyomi. He couldn't have his Crystal Armor slow him down if they were needed to make a run for it. ''Sensei! What is that?'' The question was answered with a quick shout back as Kiyomi kept running. ''What do you think? My mother being angry? More running and less asking questions!'' Not wasting any time, Hayate followed after the two of them. He thought about trying to reseal the door, but realized that there wasn't enough time. "Kiyomi! If we can get to the stairs I may be able to stop this thing from reaching us." He wasn't entirely certain if that were true or not, but Hayate had a plan in mind... Here's hoping it works. Whatever was heading their way, it unleashed another roar. The room they were in started to tremble. It faintly would sound like a kind of voice. But not one that was asking for help. It was anything else but friendly. While the team was reaching the staircase, they would hear and perhaps see something being thrown at the wall. A large boulder. It was just too off to not block the way for the team, but it was evident that what ever was trying to catch them, was also trying to cut off their way. Stopping briefly, Kiyomi raised her right arm in front of her face, trying to protect herself from the few stone splinters that flew around. Damnit. Hearing what Hayate had said, Kiyomi cursed out loud. ''No, lets first go and try to outrun it! That is an order!'' Kiyomi said. With being the most far up the stairscase, she turned around to see how far the others were. Leo was right behind her and nodded to her as he kept running and climbing the staircase. Gritting her teeth, Kiyomi started to curse the place again. Cursing under his breath, Hayate surged forwards with an extra burst of speed. He reached the stairs and began climbing after them. Fighting the urge to look over his shoulder, Hayate focused his effort on putting as much distance between himself and whatever the heck was chasing them.
