Dixie brought her bags into her room, eyes glancing up now and again as others explored or entered their rooms as well. After getting all her bags within, she stepped back outside, figuring she should explore the mansion so as not to get lost on a day when she’d need to find something immediately. As she was about to turn, a door shut and Dixie’s hearing picked it up immediately. She glanced down the way seeing a pale girl in dark clothes seeming to be very amused by something before speaking. So I guess the new recruits are filing in, huh. They’re really at the end of the rope if they brought us in. Dixie hesitated, looking confused as to what the girl meant. Then again, the words were too soft to be directed at her, and yet the girl had been looking at her the whole time. Dixie lifted a finger as if to respond, when Ralph appeared and said he was one of the best. It made Dixie blush and tilt her head down a bit again before clearing her throat and forcing herself to speak. ”It’s hard ta call yerself a hero I think. Ain’t that what others call ya when ya save them? I ain’t never saved nobody really, but I wanna try,” she said, looking quite vulnerable to their criticism now that she’d opened her mouth. Not only had she said Ralph wasn’t being humble in a roundabout way, she’d admitted her almost total lack of experience. Messing with her fingernails, she cleared her throat again and glanced to Elizabeth. ”Are you a old recruit?” she asked, since the girl had seemingly already been here, by her lack of presence at the meeting and calling all of them new. After she spoke her stomach growled loudly and she looked embarrassed once more, mumbling a soft “ ‘scuse me,” under her breath.
