Crisis: The Empyrean Project
It is year 2899. Humanity has long since conquered the stars around them. The resources and riches from their conquests had brought the human race into an Golden Age of technological advancement. Powerful self sustaining AI's were developed to aid humans and their machines, and cyborg parts allowed cripples and the weak to continue working for society. With the advent of AI, biotech, robotics and cybertechnology several centuries prior, the advancement of humanity has grown exponentially. Starships of massive proportions were built, floating worlds in space were created, massive Utopia cities on lush green planets were erected. Worlds beyond even what humanity thought were possible were discovered. Wars weren't fought, the human race was too busy expanding at a breakneck pace. Life was perfect. Nothing could possibly go wrong.
And then it did. By the year 2480, Humanity had overextended itself; the great sprawling empire it had forged had become too large for it to support itself. The empire collapsed onto itself. In the course of 20 years, the mighty empire humanity had established splintered into thousands of factions. The Galaxy erupted into a large feudal war. Some factions grew power by warring with other factions, taking them over; others stayed secluded for as long as they could. Many were taken back by the earth empire, and just as many were lost in deep space.
By the 25th Century, the most of the numerous factions had consolidated into 3 major powers: The original Earth Empire, the largest and most numerous of the 3 powers, made up of most of the core empire planets; The Coalition, a group of separatists strictly opposed to the Earth Empire, spanning across most of colonial space; and the Krellian Republic, a reclusive, bizarre group focused mainly along the outskirts of known space. The Earth Empire and the Coalition fight bitterly, the Empire seeking to reclaim their lost territory, and the Coalition fighting for a new order in the galaxy. The Krellians choose to stay out of the conflict, their faraway frontier colonies too far away to be bothered by the other two factions.
By the turn of the 26th century, the Earth Empire and the Coalition had suffered dreadful casualties on both sides, and just as many worlds lost in the splintering had been razed by both sides. The two superpowers agreed to an uneasy truce. That marked the start of an intergalactic cold war, as the two superpowers begin a buildup of military strength and engage in proxy wars with smaller nations and colonies.
As the 27th century draws to a close, intelligence from the Earth Empire has revealed rumors of a Coalition Superweapon. Whispers of a Project Empyrean have been circulating secure Coalition channels, and the Earth Empire has concluded that this project is likely a weapon developed to tip the uneasy balance. Hesitant to reignite war in earnest after almost 200 years of peace, the Earth Empire has deployed a unit the famed 101st Special Forces Legion to secure and retrieve this superweapon, whatever it may be. This is Crisis: The Empyrean Project.
Hello everyone! Welcome to the Int Check for Crisis: The Empyrean Project! This is the next installment of a very old series of mine, formerly known as Operation Crisis. The Crisis Universe has been relatively cannon, events of the previous Operation Crisis (completed or not) helping to shape the universe of this current one. This particular RP will follow the adventures of a group of men and women from the Earth Empire’s 101st Legion. I will be accepting up to four- maybe five- other players, so this is not first come first served.
Rules:
Most of these are fairly self explanatory and common sense, but I will be putting them down anyway
1. GM has the final ruling. No exceptions.
1a. While GM has the final ruling, opinions, suggestions, and constructive criticism and collaboration is highly encouraged.
1b. In order to prove you've read the rules, along with your Character Sheet, provide a comment on something regarding the someone's character that you liked, or something you think they could have done better. (The first person to create a CS would comment on my own character)
2. Keep it classy and respectful, there's never an adequate reason to repeatedly put someone down and act like a jerk.
3. No God-Modding or controlling other characters without permission
4. Your character is not invincible.
5. This is a Mature roleplay and of high standards, and will I expect some sense of maturity.
6. Just a note, I write in 3rd person past tense, and I will expect you all to do so as well.
7. I do not expect essays for posts, but I do expect well thought out posts of at least a few paragraphs.
Terminology and Technology:
The United Earth Empire: The United Earth Empire was the originator of the galaxy’s space colonies. Formally known as the United Nations, the United Nations of Earth was formed after humans had first colonized mars. Originally developed to unite humanity against possible hostile extraterrestrials, humanity encountered few alien species, even fewer of which were intelligent. With no need to worry about possible alien attacks, the UNE was free to focus on rapid expansionism, and renamed itself the United Earth Empire, as international differences became less and less important. After the Great War, the shattered remains of the UEE were quick to regroup and reclaimed the majority of the former empire's core worlds with little difficulty. Now one of the largest powers in the galaxy, the UEE is known for its patriotism and solidarity, despite the presence of an unusually large number of corrupt officials.
The Coalition for a Free Galaxy: The Coalition for a Free Galaxy, better known as just The Coalition was formed shortly after the Great War as a group of colonies' desire to stay separate from the UEE. A loosely tied confederacy of worlds, the Coalition's movement has picked up a large number of worlds against the imperialism and rigidness of the UEE. Due to the fact that they are allied purely to combat against the UEE, competition and rivalries are common between the Coalition Nations. Despite this, their armed forces are able to remain standardized and well equipped to combat the UEE. Well known for their individualism and its dependence on commercialism, the Coalition is constantly trying to dismantle the UEE once and for all.
The Krellian Republic: Very little is known about the Krellian Republic. They are a reclusive group of fringe world colonies, and were paid little attention to by both the UEE and Coalition. With their proximity to the edge of discovered space, it is believed there is a possibility for them to be in contact with intelligent extraterrestrials, though this notion is widely dismissed as untrue by both the Coalition and UEE. With the Krellian Republic being so far removed from contested space, the galaxy has yet to see the Krellian Military, and many wonder if the Krellians even possess a standing armed force.
The Ghosts:
The UEE Ghosts are the most feared military presence in the Galaxy. Top secret, and with extremely advanced training, UEE Ghosts are extremely individualistic and are perfectly suited to any and every situation. The Ghosts represent the UEE's pinnacle of military training and technology. Specially bred and trained from birth to be the perfect weapon, the training, biogenetic and cybernetic modifications, as well as gear for a single Ghost exceeds the cost of building and maintaining a full fleet of warships. Capable of completely superhuman feats and the almost impossible to hit, Ghosts are rumored to be utterly invincible. The Ghost Corps numbers less than 1000, with only 200 of these men and women being active Ghost Operatives.
101st Special Forces Legion:
Only recently initiated but extremely successful, the 101st Legion is the UEE's premiere infantry force. With heavily specialized training designed to mimic that of the Ghost program. Similar to the Ghosts, the members of the 101st Legion are notably more individualistic than their standard issue counterparts, and are trained to be highly effective in small numbers or on their own. Individuality and unorthodox techniques are encouraged, though the members of the 101st are still human and are trained in regular military tactics. Analysts have noticed that side effects of these different types of training techniques have resulted in soldiers that are fiercely independent – but loyal to one another, often risking the life and limb of many to save a few. It is noted alarmingly however that this loyalty pertains more to one another than that of the entire UEE.
Coalition Commandos:
Believed to be formed by the Coalition in response to the UEE's Special Forces units, the Coalition Commandos are noted to be exponentially better trained than standard Coalition soldiers, as well as more numerous than the UEE's Special Forces Legions. Despite their numbers, the UEE believes these soldiers to be inferior when compared to the 101st Legion and Ghosts. Despite this fact, commanders are still advised to exercise caution when dealing with Coalition Commandos.
Weapons technology has advanced significantly since humanity has entered the stars, but for the most part splits into three main categories.
At first rather ineffective and prohibitively expensive, humanity quickly discovered that laser weapons were much cheaper in the long run than typical conventional weapons. Laser weapons are considerably more accurate, lightweight, and lack the need for any sort of ammunition, and are considerably cheaper than their ballistic counterparts. However, despite these perks, laser weapons have remained rather ineffective. While capable of causing serious burns and injuries on unarmored targets, laser weapons are ineffective against body armor and are more fragile and temperamental than their conventional counterparts. Laser Weapons, due to their low cost and light weight are mostly used by police forces and civilian shooters.
The mainstay of weapons technology since before humanity entered the stars. Loud, heavy and hard hitting, mass driving technology has made smaller caliber ammunition more and more effective against body armor and flesh. Effective in most situations ballistic weapons remain one of the more effective and reliable methods of killing other human beings, though it should be noted that new mass driven rounds tend to overpenetrate soft unarmored targets. However, despite their universality, conventional weapons are considerably more expensive due to their needs for parts and ammunition and the methods used to produce these materials. Conventional weaponry is used extensively by both UEE and Coalition military units.
A very new concept in modern weapons technology, plasma weapons are regarded as a two edged blade. On the one hand, the damage caused by a plasma burst to any surface, flesh, armor, and nature alike is tremendous. On the other hand, plasma weapons are heavy, difficult to maintain, dangerous to reload and fire, and finicky on a good day. Plasma is not a blast of superhot liquid as the name may suggest, but is instead similar to a bolt of energy. Purely Plasmatic weaponry remains mostly experimental and is not often used in modern military units. Most current ranged plasma weapons are typically mounted weapons, or ship based weapons. Projectors also make plasma edged weaponry possible.
Energy/Laser Weaponry:

The armor of an 101st Legion Operator varies, but they all will feature fully contained atmosphere, powerful plating that gives a considerable step up beyond standard soft body armor, and powerful helmets with a well built HUD suite. Higher ranking operators have sensor 'wings' attached to the round ports on the side of the head. These wings provide highly advanced communication systems, as well support for a field grade AI.
O-1 Mk II Powered Orbital Assault Armor:
Solid and well rounded, this suit is a specially modified version of the standard Orbital Infantry Assault armor. Unlike its predecessor, the newer Mk II armor is fully sealed, and features a powered undersuit. The Mk II Powered armor serves as a base for all specialized suits.
PA-1 Scout Armor Light and mobile, the scout armor houses an advanced scanning and information suite built into its visor. The Scout Variant also features an active camouflage system, allowing the Scout to move with 90% transparency for periods of 5 minutes. The suit itself is much more mobile than the O-1 Mk II, and the powered undersuit has increased 'muscle' on the legs, allowing for faster sprints and making it considerably faster than all other variants. The Scout variant's plates are considerably thinner than the Standard plate, but will still offer more protection than soft body armor.
O-1 Mk IIc Special Operations Armor
The O-1 Mk IIc Special Operations Armor is a suit specifically developed for high risk missions. The Spec-Ops variant comes an external 'backpack', essentially an armored case that holds an electronic's suite, with everything one may need for covert missions. Many Spec-Ops helmets come with 4-6 eyes, allowing it to rapidly change or overlap various vision modes: Heat, sonar, x-ray etc. The Spec-Ops uses a solid breastplate instead of a ribbed design to reduce overall weight and bulk, but as a result is not as strong as the Mk II, but is still capable of holding its own in a firefight.
PA-2 Sentinel Assault Armor
Designed for heavy combat, the PA-2 Sentinel Assault Armor provides increased protection in the form of thicker armor and increased overall power suit strength. The Sentinel variant is built with small barrier generators, one on the torso, back, and on each shoulder. These experimental barrier generators create barriers along the contours of the armor. This causes it to suck up a considerably larger amount of energy and can only be active an half an hour at most before shutting down and needing to recharge. The shield is not a save-all, and while it will redirect and deflect grazing shots, it is not strong enough to fully stop a direct hit. Despite the power suit, the Sentinel Armor is still considerably slower than its other variants, but is still relatively mobile.
101st Operators are a cut above the standard infantryman, and as such are entitled to a more advanced selection or arms and equipment to bring with them on missions.
ACS - Adaptive Combat System
The standard firearm that all 101st Operators are trained to use, the ACS - Adaptive Combat System is a mutlirole combat rifle system that utilizes an advanced mass-driving system to propel its 6.8mm rounds from its 36 round magazine at high speeds with a high degree of accuracy. While typically fired in single auto mode, the ACS also sports a 2 round burst, and fully automatic fire at a cyclic rate of 800 rounds per minute. The ACS is designed to be easily modified, able to switch out barrels, receivers, covers, and accessories by hand.
SN-1 Machine Pistol
Extremely popular amongst special forces units, the SN-1 is a machine pistol resembling a bullpup design. Its magazine is offset to the side, to allow it to be properly held, though its design prevents it from being ambidextrous or two handed, and the left and right variants must be used in the left or right hand. Featuring a high rate of fire, firing .45 caliber rounds from a 27 round magazine, its high recoil is offset by the power armor worn by the 101st.
Bullhammer Mk II
A powerful revolver weapon favored by Ghosts, rangers, and snipers, the Bullhammer Mk II is a heavy revolver that fires specialized .357 rounds, fit with small plasmatic micro-explosives. An advanced mass-driving system built into the weapon results in high muzzle velocity and power, with a considerably lower recoil. The Bullhammer has a break-open frame (it opens from the top- like the MP412 Rex), and a double action trigger, and comes built in with a targeting laser.
Barrier Stave
A multipurpose plasma based weapon/defensive system used exclusively by the 101st Legion. The Barrier Stave is reminiscent of a sword hilt, but has a shield generator where the base of the blade would reside. When used defensively, the barrier stave deploys an round bubble of energy. While deployed it is a solid barrier, blocking bullets, explosives, and bodies. Using an advanced FOF identifier system, the barrier allows other 101st Operators to move through each other's barriers. The barrier can only take a limited amount of fire before collapsing.
The Barrier Stave can also be used as a weapon, when switched to an offensive mode. When triggered to offensive mode, the force-field deployed by the stave resembles the blade of a short sword, with an edge only nanometers thick. As the field will not allow material to pass through it, one can use the sharp edge of the blade to cut through most materials. The barrier stave can maintain a blade for several hours before running out of energy.
Barrier Staves are typically carried in sets of three, usually one shield, and two blades.
Electron Grenade
The Electron Grenade is a multi-purpose smart grenade made for incapacitating enemy infantry and electronics. The Electron Grenade has multiple settings. At its standard setting, the Electron Grenade emits a sudden lethal electrical charge detonating explosives capable of eliminating enemy personnel within a 15 foot radius, and incapacitating them at up to 25 feet. The EMP setting emits a powerful electrical charge capable of overloading and effectively freezing personnel in their suits, and disabling all electronics within a 10 foot radius. This high powered electrical charge also disables the explosive within the grenade from within - though the grenade's case protects it from charges from outside. The Scan setting emits a low power charge across a 30 foot radius, the low powered wash of electricity marks the silhouette of anyone caught within the blast on the HUDS of all 101st soldiers. Due to the relative low power of the scanning charge, the grenade can be picked up and reused almost indefinitely.
Electron Mace
Heavily used by riot police, the Electron Mace is a retractable baton used for the express purpose of clubbing uncooperative or otherwise troublesome individuals. At the push of a button the mace's head projects an electrical field capable of sending a powerful, debilitating shock through the intended target. Highly effective on unarmored targets, and capable of disrupting electronics, the Electron Mace is often used as a less lethal alternative to a melee or close combat weapon.
Biogel
Biogel is a smart, expanding, self-sealing antibacterial gel made to temporarily seal wounds until proper medical attention can be administered. The gel comes in a small cylindrical canister and is can be applied by hand, or with the use of an administrating device.

Character Roster
Standing in at a 6'2", and weighing 180 lbs, Matthew has an athletic build, well suited to the rigors of combat. Eric has gray white hair, a strange side-effect of his various cybernetic augmentations, and has slate gray eyes..
Name: Sykes, Matthew
Callsign: Apex
Gender: Male
Age: 26
Psychological Analysis:
Calm, collected, and tough as nails, Matthew Sykes, better known as "Apex" by his companions, is a smooth operating 101st Legionnaire. Able to maintain his cool under fire, Matthew Sykes is capable of operating at peak efficiency in high stress situations, earning him his nickname, "Apex". Quick of mind as well as action, Matthew's analyzing and assessment abilities are what earned him a spot in the in the 101st Special forces Legion. Holding efficiency in the highest regard, Matthew has a perfectionist attitude that can be mistaken for either confidence, or arrogance.
Military Background:
Born on Earth as the only child of a poor, single mom, Matthew Sykes dealt with chaos and misfortune for the majority of his childhood. Despite his unfortunate circumstances and shoddy neighborhood, Matthew attained high grades, and with his relaxed temperament, made his way through primary and secondary school with little difficulty. On a teacher's recommendation, Sykes applied to, and found himself accepted into the once prestigious, now legendary West Point Military Academy.
After years of hard work, 21 year old Matthew Sykes graduated from West Point with flying colors. Immediately after graduation, Matthew was approached by 101st Recruiter, who took an interest to his abilities. Accepting the invitation, Matthew Sykes began the year long 101st training regimen the fall after graduation.
After a grueling year of training with the 101st, Matthew was inducted into the 101st Legion's 7th Company. Where he would deploy covertly into Coalition territories or into one of the proxy war locations to combat the Coalition forces. After several years of hard work, Sykes was accepted as a fully fledged member of the 101st.
Now a full 5 years after joining Matthew has been selected to be a part of a specialized unit with the purpose of striking deep into Coalition Space to obtain and secure a rumored Coalition Superweapon.
Cybernetic/Biological Augmentations:
During his first year at West Point, Matthew lost an arm. Replacing it with a cybernetic arm, Matthew enjoyed the high performance abilities of this cybernetic arm so much, he arranged to remove his other arm and replace it as well. Matthew has a cybernetic left eye, to help speed up reaction time, analytically abilities, as well as provide a 'HUD'-like system without needing a helmet. Matthew's cybernetic eye has a built in camera/recorder, linked to a neural datachip embedded in a slot behind his ear, allowing him to record and capture 48 hours worth of footage and images and recall them at will. Matthew also has cybernetic knee joints, to improve leg performance. Matthew, like the rest of the 101st, has an advanced neural interface accessible by a data jack behind each ear.
Loadout:
Armor - Matthew wears a standard O-1 Mk II armor suit, but wears a six-eyed Spec-Ops helmet instead of the standard Mk II helmet.

Psychological Evaluation:
Emotionally Detached, Margaret has been found as being cold and unpredictable. She shows signs of delusion, and also suffers from Manic Bipolar disorder with extreme mood differentiation. She is highly manipulative, and is considered to be very intelligent, thus making her a threat to others. She has no concept of remorse for her actions, nor shows any signs of sympathy.
Background:
Margaret Gunn is the direct result of a girl, who was orphaned at an early age. No one in the world to care for her, nor did she care for another. She was raised in numerous orphanages and group homes throughout her entire childhood. One of these in particular had quite an extensive file on Margaret.. The sisters at Saving Grace home for girls described her as "a hard case, with little hope of ever gaining any normality in life" and as "a loner". Her behavior during her early years was antisocial and stand offish, and was entirely pragmatic. Shortly after she became violent and malicious towards others, staff and ward alike. She caused great mental and emotional strain, as well as bodily harm to the other girls and several of the sisters that kept her ward. It was apparent to them that she was a bad seed, and there was nothing that was going to change that. She became highly manipulative and intimidated everyone. Sister Agnes Mary was quoted as saying that "her very presence in the room could send shivers down your neck" and also that "it would be in your best interests to avoid making eye contact"
It wasn't long before the sisters had made the decision that her behavior could not, and would not be tolerated any longer. Just shy of turning sixteen, the sisters turned her over to the military. A recruiter named Sgt. D. C. Beckett came to Saving Grace home for girls and her care was left in his hands. It wasn't long before she landed a position in a general infantry platoon, where she seemed to excel. It was even noted that she was a model grunt. She breezed through training and she gained rank in great stride. Her behavior on base was not exactly of merit, and she was cited numerous infractions. These infractions were looked over by her performance in the field. She had been in the military for 14 years before her induction into the 101st and was dubbed a " lifer" from that point on. Soldiers like Maggie weren't cut out for retirement. Shortly after she joined the 101st she went on to more pertinent training such as advanced tactics training, as well as interrogation training and the art of espionage, which later became her field of expertise.
The individuality embraced by the 101st seemed to fit her, and she has grown and excelled in every aspect since her enlistment. She lives for the mission, and her brothers on the field. As her training continued she began to flourish into a regular war machine. She was soon assigned to an elite group, known as "The Birds of Prey", who specialized in missions that were delicate in nature, assassinations, extractions, and various other dicey mission objectives. She was soon named "The Raven" by her colleagues, due to her macabre nature on the battlefield. She is an exceptional soldier, elite in all aspects, though her methods are sometimes questionable and have been described on several occasions as being extreme.
She has also been known to suffer from a condition known to soldiers as being blood drunk. It is commonly described as a state of rage where she fades in and out of consciousness and mutters to herself incoherently during battle. She also believes in the mythological Valkyrie, and to see her in action, one might wonder whether or not she is right. Some say she is a clairvoyant, and can see moments into the near future, but that is only speculation which she thoroughly denies. Aside from her "issues", she is a top notch soldier, and elite in all aspects of combat. She works best alone, or in small units or squads, and isn't known to be incapable of completing any task given. She is perhaps most affective in the field of interrogation as well as espionage. Again, her methods are not exactly common, but are highly effective.

Psychological Analysis
Full of energy, and always smirking, Lucas "Ghosty" Clint is quite the joker of a card that'll find something to laugh about in just about any situation. Silent and keen of eye while under the cover of shadows Lucas finds his home deep in the fields looking for mice scurrying about. His (not so) secret idolization of the legendary UEE Ghosts quickly earned Lucas his nickname of "Ghosty". Despite not fitting the ideal model of the "Perfect 101st Soldier" Lucas refuses to be beat down by anyone who he deems as "Too serious" and is determined to prove that even someone like him could rise high.
Military Background
As far as Lucas' memory went he never actually had any parents. He was born and raised in the slums, and ended up being forcefully recruited into a gang of "harvesters" who kidnapped people for their augments then left them for dead once the harvest was over. It was either that or live off rats for the rest of his life. Although he knew this wasn’t going to be his entire life. He wasn’t going to let it be his whole life, and he knew just what to do to escape.
For the next decade this was how Lucas had lived his life. He’d go out and stalk a target waiting for the opportune moment to strike. Once his target was vulnerable he’d rush in and incapacitate them. When Lucas started earning augmentations of his own he started going after bigger and better targets. Eventually Lucas would disappear for weeks at a time before returning with targets that the gang had thought impossible to obtain.
Feeling unstoppable, Lucas’ next target was one that had some very high class augmentations. It wasn’t just his limbs that were augmented. The man had some sort of cerebral augmentation to judging by the data jacks behind his ears. Gleeful at this find, Lucas wasted no time and began stalking the man immediately. The quicker he bagged this guy the better. Lucas ended up tracking the man all the way to a hotel in probably the slummiest part of the city there was. In fact it wasn’t too far from his gang’s HQ. It was almost as though this man just wanted to get kidnapped! Well Lucas had every intention of complying with the man’s desires.
After bribing the man at the desk for a copy of the room key that the man had, Lucas quickly made his way up to man’s room. He couldn’t help but grin at just how dumb this guy was. Slipping into the room as stealthy as possible, Lucas crept up to the bed with a knife at hand. Dead or alive this guy was coming with him. Just as he was about to grasp the large blanket that covered the bed, Lucas heard a very faint thump as though something had dropped behind him. Lucas barely had time to turn around before he was completely blind-sighted by the very man he was tracking. It was just his luck to run into a 101st.
To make a long story short Lucas was arrested that day, and he spent a good two years in prison before getting his first visitor. Much to his very surprise the person that wanted to visit Lucas was the very man who landed him in prison in the first place. Here is the recorded audio track.
[12:48:56] Hey kiddo, just thought I’d visit ya.
[12:49:01] Oho, big 101st wants to gloat in his victory, eh?
[12:49:10] Well, of course. That’s not all though. I thought I’d reward ya for your wonderful tracking skills. It ain’t everyday some nobody nearly gets to jump on someone like me.
[12:49:48] Reward me? What, am I getting a gold star for effort? I didn’t quite succeed, now did I? Else I wouldn’t be here.
[12:49:59] Woah, woah. Chill man. I’ve had to put in some serious ass kissing to even get here and make this offer so you best shut up and listen. Unless you want to rot in here with the rest of the trash?
[12:50:11] (sighing) Alright, I’m listening.
[12:50:16] Excellent, so let’s back to business. How would you like to get out of this shit hole and actually put those skills of yours to some good use? What I’m saying is I want you to join the 101st. Not only will you actually get to do something better than hunting down civilians for scraps. You’ll be able to get some better augs. The ones you got now look like they’re about to fall apart.
[12:51:13] You’re joking right? Just what sort of ass kissing do you have to do to convince them to let someone with my background in? You know what, it doesn’t matter. If you can get me out of this hellhole I’ll do whatever you want. (laughter)
[12:52:09] Oh, what’s so funny?
[12:52:14] Nothing, nothing. Just reminiscing on the past. This is almost exactly like how I got stuck where I was before all this.
After this encounter with the 101st soldier Lucas was soon released from prison and immediately shipped to bootcamp where he would spend the next year with his soon-to-be brothers doing some rather hellish training. It was shortly before graduation from the training regimen that rumors of a superweapon being built by the Coalition started to spread. So just fresh from bootcamp comes Lucas Clint into a whole new world. No longer will he be scouting for people to harvest just so he could eat his next meal. Now he’s got his own brothers and sisters to worry about and what may lie in his future.
Cybernetic/Biological Augmentations
During Lucas’ time with the gang, before he was arrested, he was subject to numerous augmentations. Both arms and legs were replaced with scrap augmentations. His lungs and heart were also replaced giving him temporary immunity to tear gas, and other noxious fumes as well as a built in defibulator. During his time in prison Lucas sustained irreversible damage to one of his eyes in a fight with one of the inmates. When Lucas was recruited into the 101st all of his secondhand augmentations were given an upgrade to newer models, as well as his destroyed eye being replaced. Upon request Lucas had his other eye replaced for the sake of having a matching set. Other than his eyes, the only other augmentation he has in his head are the data jacks that every 101st soldier has.

Name: Campbell, Ashe
Callsign: Boomstick
Gender: Female
Age: 28
Psychological Analysis:
Utilitarian in her beliefs she had discovered long ago that sometimes to do the right thing one had to be willing to cross moral boundaries only a monster would dare to cross even if her own actions sickened her. Her idea of hero not being a knight in shining armor but somebody that would kill one to save ten, ten to save a hundred, a hundred to save a thousand, a thousand to save a million. She didn't know if this made her more a villain that the people just wanting sovereignty and the chance at freedom that she was fighting but she did know that if a threat was put down as quickly as possible the number of innocent lives caught up in the mess was lower and so the practically of it was putting a bullet through the head of a insurrectionist first and bothering to ask questions about the moral values of the question later did what she joined the military to do faster save lives.
Outside of combat though one might see a different individual a human being residing inside of a construct of war unsure if it came first or was the product of the guilt of actions committed. A kind and almost caring individual with a warm presence that was not afraid to sharpen the old blade of sarcasm once every so often. And on one rare occasion one might even find her starring out the view ports out into the great vast darkness where she would wonder about why... just why. For the cracks in the armor after several years of military service presented themselves only if showing them when they could not be suppressed The signs of onset PTSD and a general weariness towards the actions that she had committed in the past, maybe even looking for a form of redemption if their was one. But somewhere inside her she knew that getting out of it was no longer an option she could not just settle down and start a life on one of the core worlds she was born with war in her blood and she would live a soldier and die as one.
Military Background:
Born into a military family her father being a rear admiral in the UEE fleets with a long and proud history of military service in her blood. Having a blood relatives having fought all around the world since the hundred years war back on Earth when man used to fight with steel and blade rather than laser and plasma. While in her youth she enjoyed rebelling against her families way of life being a hard drinking delinquent much to her father's ire she eventually mellowed out and was dragged more or less into the old family pastime of killing others for lord and country. Trained at Sandhurst with among the likes of West Point was one of the few remaining so called "old academies" of prestige and almost legendary fame left standing. While there she excelled at her martial and combat orientated classes excelling in particular with assault tactics and close ranged urban warfare commonly associated with the 101st PA-2 Sentinel Shock Teams. Her eye for logistics and tactics though was a less bit less than stellar preferring to leave the heavy number crunching to the engineers back on the warships. Nevertheless through a mixture of determination and grit she graduated in the upper quartile of her class.
After graduation a man in a suit contacted her who had been placed in charge of watching all recruits coming out of Sandhurst with great care having gained a certain intresated in Campbell after reviewing her combat simulation scores. He was a recruiter part of UEE special forces to find members for their myriad of special operation divisions spread out across the Empire. Soon afterwards she found herself in the 101st training camp known affectionately by those that were pushed through it and lived to tell the tale as Hell. Her father of course was opposed to it having wanted her to take a commission as a captain stationed on some backwater world or even better as a MP back on Earth not to be fighting on the front lines. But her rebellious nature never truly left her and she stuck through the training though it pushed her to her breaking point and far past it as it was designed to do at times she felt it would of been easier to give up and lay in the mud and dirt rather than run another 20 miles. But eventually it came to an end and she was one of the 30 of the original 200 to have made it out the other side a recruit in the 101st.
Due to her excellence in heavy combat operations she was placed in the 101st Legionaries 3rd Company 1st Armored Platoon where she and her comrades equip in top of the line PA-2 Sentinel Assault Armor and its predecessor the PA-1 and placed in hot combat zones across the many small skirmish they had with pro-coalition and coalition-armed forces on UEE controlled worlds. Years of work, blood and sweat accumulated its self as her armor grew battle worn and was no longer shined with the well polish of a fresh untested soldier. Though the time would come where Campbell was to show her worth and cement her ability as a member of the 101st.
The planet's name was Kryes it was in the lost space between Coalition and the UEE where a large majority of the proxy wars in the "peace time" period took place. At the time it was controlled by a pro-Coalition government though a great number of dissenters lived among the peasantry who wished for the UEE backing who payed more money for their agricultural products and generally though as tyrannical as it may had been brought relative prosperity and safety to the world. This revolution of the peasantry though was hampered due to the government having Coalition support in the form of guns, ammunition, vehicles and even military training. And well the UEE did its best to found the rebels as best as they could it was getting nowhere. And so 10 in total legionnaires including Campbell were dropped onto the planet posing as mercenaries hired by the Rebel forces without UEE gear or backing and where told to train and start a rebellion. In the end it was a Pyrrhic victory at best for the Rebel forces with most of the planet in ruins and considerable losses on both sides. But the actions most remembered was by a certain legionnaire and the only one to survive the conflict. Having been thrust into control of the largest remaining contingent of the rebel forces in the area stuck between an approaching government army that was larger and more well equipped and one of the largest military installations on the planet which defended the mountain pass leading to the capital. It was deiced that it was better to be thrown against the rock than the hard place and the army smashed against the installations digging in hard with the one hope that the sheer audacity of it would give them enough of an upper hand to take the installations.
The events that occurred at this battle are commonly refereed to as the Meat Grinder. They say that Campbell pushed her forces against the onslaught for two full days and nights even as dozens were mowed down by lasers and heavy machine gun fire. That all she cared about was to punch a hole in the defense and legend has it at the end of the second day that the pile corpses pushed against the wall was high enough for the remainder of the army to storm up and take the installation a mere day ahead of the approaching army. Allowing them to live and be able to counter the approaching government force from atop the fortifications that the rebels had bathed in their own blood to capture. And with the defeat of that army and the arrival of the second rebel army from the south cemented the fall of the capital and victory for the rebels. In the so called Meat Grinder alone 30+ medals of valor were award with only three of those being issued to living soldiers with a mere 100 of Campbell original 1,250 men surviving the battle. Cambell's work was praised when returned valiantly back to the UEE and the 101st though the events on Kryes did effect her as the blood of all those that died because of her ran fresh through her memory.
Slowly the years passed and before she knew it seven years had past in her time with the 101st and on a routine day she was contacted that she was being pulled out of 3rd Company and into an inter-Company strike team to take down a new Coalition super weapon. Somewhere deep in her stomach she had a bad feeling about the events that were to come.
Cybernetic/Biological Augmentations:
Goliath Phase 4 Arm Enhancement : In place of an organic musculature, these augmentations utilize bunches of stimulated plastic cables that mimic the actions of muscle tissues, but to a greatly strengthened degree. In combination with tiny motors and shock-absorbers using kinetic buffers capable of far exceeding human physical abilities. Made of lightweight polycarbons.
Roadrunner Phase 2 Leg Prosthetic: Using the same manner of advanced polymers and lightweight metals that the Goliath uses. With these high tech state of the art augmentations the captain is able to run faster, kick stronger and jump higher then the average human being and do it for much longer without tiring though like the Goliath she must be careful not to overexert the systems or else risking burn out and damage to the augmentations.
Citadel Exolayer: A supple, micro-thin material implanted beneath the epidermis in key areas of the body, as well as over the surface of pre-existing cybernetic limbs. When kinetic energy from a physical blow or a weapon discharge strikes the plating, the material becomes rigid, deflecting the impact shock. Heat and electromagnetically-conductive elements in the Exolayer serve to dampen damage from fire-related or energized trauma. This provides an outer protective layer that well do will to protect from small arms fire but can be punctured.

Appearance: Tall and slim, Gabriel is all whipcord muscle, the kind that conceals a great deal more strength than it reveals. He could be described as angular, and sharp, rather than handsome, but there is a warmth in his eyes that belies his harsh, gaunt exterior.
Name: Zain, Gabriel
Callsign: Chaplain
Gender: Male
Age: 34
Psychological Analysis: Most people would not place Gabriel in the military, let alone in a unit as ruthless and elite as the 101st. He’s too kind, too caring, and altogether too intelligent to have been serving in that unit for the last eight years. They would be right, perhaps. But the fact of the matter is that for all his caring nature, there is a driving determination at his heart that could cool stars.
His eyes betray a wisdom that belies his years, and his multitude of disciplines often see him acting as everything from medicae to confessor. He has turned down multiple opportunities for leadership, he is no commander, he knows that much, but his advice is often worth listening to, and he has the patience to listen to whatever rambling stories people want to get off their chest.
Military Background: Gabriel followed his father, and mother into medicine, at least at first. He graduated at the top of his class and several years ahead of schedule. At only twenty, he was one of the youngest doctors to ever leave the prestigious medical and mechanical schools of earth. But some strange obsession meant that he did not stop there. He soon bent his formidable mind to the military, but unlike some, chose not to attend the military academies, though with his record they would have undoubtedly welcomed him with open arms. All his life things had simply been laid out for him, and this time he was going to earn it.
The galaxy is never at peace, there is always conflict somewhere, and he served as a front line medic for eight years until somehow, in the faceless bureaucracy that is most of the military, he was noticed. In this time he had ascended to the rank of Sergeant, but steadfastly refused any advancement beyond that, unwilling to take the risk of leaving the front lines and the men who served there. He was offered a position in the 101st, and without hesitation took it, proving to be a valuable, and extremely effective operative, medical skills included.
Cybernetic/Biological Augmentations: Intern Mk3 – A matched pair of augmetic hands, these are the only prosthetics Gabriel has fitted, and were both voluntary at that. Each enables increased dexterity and steadiness of hand, and are capable of exhibiting or mounting a variety of surgical tools and implements.
Loadout: O-1 Mk IIc Special Operations Armour – the legs of the armour have been replaced with the same improvements more commonly found in PA-1 Scout Armour, offering some increase in speed at the cost of making the lower limbs more vulnerable.
ACS – Adaptive Combat System
Keller Mk3 – Triumvirate – A tri-barrelled, semi-automatic pistol made popular for its rapid rate of fire, but non-existent recoil, it is also the most accurate pistol on the market, either commercially or military. It possesses a magazine of twelve bullets of .357 calibre and makes up for what it lacks in stopping power with the ability to take the wings off a fly at fifty paces.
Barrier Stave
Electron Mace
Four Electron Grenades
Medkit – Contains Biogel, bandages, and pretty much everything else that can be realistically carried and applied in a battlefield situation.
