From what I'm reading here, it looks like the pregnancy delayed some serious problems that she would have had if her uterus had continued to shed lining without the material being able to escape. Not that a knife wound, unexpected pregnancy and caesarean aren't huge problems by themselves (at that age too), or that the accumulating blood wouldn't have had to be addressed later on, but it's worth noting.

This is just fascinating all-round.

Glad to know they both seem to have made it through this OK.

I'm going to expect whatever kid get's born from this to have some serious birth defects.

Nevermind, said that just by looking at the article name (was feeling to tired to read atm, but I had to stay up for something regardless so I figured I should give it a better peek while waiting).

Apparently sperm really is hardy... cause the kid was apparently healthy.
