1 Hive can launch about 4,000 eggs, and that's a minimum. Each egg holds 10+ creatures. The spores can not affect them also, as they would be taken control of directly by a Praefectus

Edit: Mind you, this doesn't mean they will FIRE EVERYTHING. They reserve so many eggs in case they are fired at by enemy ships and use them as shields, er, well, meat shields.

Edit2: For those that may just be reading this and think this may be gamebreaking; the Esurienti's technology is numbers. Any Esurienti, excluding the Tormenta's, are nearly defenseless. While they have carapace armor.... well, this is an example. a Modern day human Soldier could take down 10+ of them without effort with the standard rifle and ammo, and still have bullets left over in the clip. A Futuristic human soldier could take down probably 20+ without effort. It's expected for them to die and majority of the time they are used as sacrifices. They are also the soldiers and civilians. They burrow, create nests, catch food to feed themselves and communicate. They are the military force and population. In the unlikely event that the Hives launched every egg they had for a ground assault, it would require only a minimum of 3,000-5,000 troops in fortified positions to take them all down. Which in this situation, appears to be exactly that.
