Ascot was trying to bring himself back to some measure of stability, trying to snap out of his funk. This was his worst defeat, proof that he was the weakest - or second weakest member of the group. He tried not to drown in depression, tried to snap out of it - he was embarrassing himself. But, he still had enough prescence of mind to listen to War offer the group a deal of free information, and the Elven Girl - Destruction, ridicule him. "I broke," summed up Ascot. "I broke against an enemy who was merely playing with me. It's true, I'm weak, despite my attempts to get stronger." He then gazed at Destrcution's eyes, renewed resolve filling him. "But I'm not going to ask you how I can get stronger; that's not my question. Rather, my question, is this:" The boy then crossed his arms behind his back. "I may not be as good at fighting as Joshua, but I do know this: every time there is a new group of villains out to strike at the Multiverse's structure, they always have some knowledge of the Multiverse's metaphysics, knwoledge that they use to motivate them, to aid them, to act as their weapon in their quest. So, my question is this: What do you know? To elaborate on this question..." "What do you know of the Multiverse's workings that drives you? What do you know of the Multiverse that grants you such weapons, and such power? What do you Know is both a simple and complex question." All trace of fear had gone out of the boy's voice, to be replaced by curiosity and drive. There was also a desire to make up for his former show of weakness, but that was only a small part of his decision-making process.
