I got the case a few weeks ago. It's a monster(used to be for a gaming computer.) Got it for 40 bucks at Goodwill(normally goes for 100-200.)

Yeah, it's amazing how expensive something as simple as a case can get.

We chose the one that looks super cool though, with lights and stuff. Because if you can't get epilepsy just from your gamer gear, you're doing it wrong.

I mostly just focused on performance for a good price. Might switch out the i5 to an Xeon(I have a friend who can get me one real cheap). Those things are crazy over clockable.

Just realized I could have saved about 200 dollars by going AMD. To be specific, the AMD A10. Faster clock speed, cheaper, 4 processing cores, and a beast integrated GPU, meaning I was able to chop off the 150 dollar NVIDIA. Oh well.

Yea, my friend and I decided against Intel and are going with the AMD.

Also, our case just came in today. I've dubbed it, The Rage Cage.

Looks like this.

Whoa, dats cool.
Also, turns out the i5 is better for my uses since it has higher single thread performance. AMD is good for sheer amount of cores.

IMO It's a better deal if you build your own (or have someone build it) rather then buy a prebuilt one, especially if you want a name brand one.

My friend and I have an idea of what our specs are going to look like so we compared it with some Alienware Desktop. We found out we were essentially building the same (if not superior) computer for like half the cost.

^^^This! You save almost 60% by building your own. There's an Alienware comp that's 4500 dollars. To build one yourself with the same specs ? 1500-2000.

You can get a pretty damn good one for about 630 bucks.
Take this one: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/rBgCMp
Overclock that processor and you'll be playing Battle Field at 60 FPS at highest settings.
