For a few minutes, Kiara was quiet. Something about how Lamont had reacted made her feel bad. Perhaps it was because he looked so... fragile. All the blushing and the fit he had after she had snatched away his book. Not to mention the reaction he'd had to her saying she wanted to know about him. It was if he truly believed that was a lie. Of course, she'd embellished a bit, but who wanted to marry someone they knew nothing about? And then there was the fact that he was coming to the lunch for her even though he obviously did not want to. So, as she watched him finally get ready to leave, she felt the need to clear things up. "You're wrong. I would like to talk to you. That part is true. I didn't come all this way just to marry you, pop out babies, and never see you again." She sighed quietly before trying to sound as sincere as she could. "Look. I'm sorry. It's been a long trip here, and an even longer day. I just..." Here Kiara paused, laying the book beside her and putting her head in her hands. "Please try to remember that this isn't what I wanted either. So can we start over? I'm Kiara. It's nice to meet you. Please come to lunch with me so we can try to get to know each other?" She stood and brought the book to him an apologetic expression on her face. Yes, she'd been expecting a selfish brute just as Ostus was. The first description may or may not have been true, but this man in front of her was obviously not insensitive. He had real feelings and Kiara had a terrible feeling that she had hurt him without meaning to.
