”I want to trust you.” ------ Full Name: Audrey Mathers Nicknames: Sunshine, Bright eyes, Honeydew, Sunny Mutant Alias: Shine Age: 18 Gender: Female Sexuality: Hetero In Depth Description of Appearance: Audrey has honey blonde hair that she keeps in a messy pixie style most of the time. Her hair is originally a medium brown though, so her eyebrows remain that hue. She has hazel eyes and a lightly tanned skin tone. She has more delicate facial features, but an average/athletic body type. She stands 5’7” and weighs 135, with an hourglass figure of 36, 26, 36. She usually wears average clothes as well, preferring tanks or camis with jeans or shorts and flip flops, or barefoot if she can get away with it. When working out, she wears normal sports bras and yoga pants. Her fingernails are chewed to the quick all the time, but she keeps her toenails looking nice, and luckily has naturally smooth skin since she despises lotion. She will wear makeup from time to time, but tend to go without it as well. She is usually too lazy for jewelry, but if she wears it, it’s most likely something gold. Personality: Hopelessly optimistic, Audrey doesn’t know how to be around people who are constantly negative and complaining. She likes seeing the bright side of life, though she does not deny the bad exists. She is incredibly humble, thankful for all she has no matter how little it is. For there is always someone who has less. She is a bit competitive, finding herself wanting to win any game or challenge she gets involved in and pouting if she loses unless cheered up, but she can play just for fun too. She enjoys challenges such as fighting or mental trivia, and is respectful to everyone around her unless they are just downright nasty or irk her to death. She likes to have fun and relax, though she isn’t the most social so she feels a bit awkward in a crowd. Likes & Dislikes: + Reading + Meditating/Thinking + Winter + Bonfires + Comfy clothes + Stuffed animals + Kittens and puppies + Friendly people - Bullying - Negative Nancies - People who back out of a challenge or fight - Talking just to hear yourself talk - Lying - Summer or being too hot - Being completely responsible for anything - Shopping Mutation: The ability to turn sonic vibration which reach her body into various types of light. Any kind of noise, and she can absorb it and expel it into controlled light forms. Before she learned to control her power, flashes of light would radiate about her. She can currently create a brilliant light to temporarily blind opponents, while her own eyes are unable to be blinded by light. She can also throw off someone by using light in a strobe effect. She can also create a shield of light which defers energy blasts or laser beams. She is currently working on creating holograms and shapes from her light energy to maybe create an illusion, but she has not accomplished this yet. She also believes she should be able to create a laser beam or blast for an offensive ability, but doesn’t have the control yet to pinpoint such energy. Her hearing is also immune to being damaged by loud noises, and she has advanced hearing. She is able to use sound energy absorbed for a couple hours, but no longer than that. She usually carries around an mp3 player so she has a constant stream of sound to her ears. Her strengths lie in her defensive abilities, to temporarily blind and confuse opponents or defer other energy blasts. She is also trained in hand to hand combat and can hold her own in a fight. Her weaknesses are her offensive abilities. She’s not super strong, super intelligent, she can’t fly, she has a regular human body that can be damaged and hurt like anyone else without mutations. She is susceptible to telepathy and all sorts of other powers. And if she has no sound and hasn’t in a while, she is powerless. Fears: She is afraid of the dark. Being locked in a silent, cold, dark room alone would drive her insane. History: Audrey was born to a prostitute and left at an orphanage. Audrey was not well taken care of, and her ‘gifts’ went unnoticed or explained away for the most part as a child. She was adopted at the age of 7 by a woman who used her to cook, clean, and entertain company whenever they had it. Less than a year of being there however, and the home was busted by police for drugs and Audrey was placed into foster care. She was taken in by a strict but loving woman and her husband, who lived on a farm and homeschooled their other 5 foster children. Audrey found the structure of the home becoming unbearable, as well as the constant overseeing, love, and attention they tried to push on her. She just wasn’t used to it. She tried to run away a few times, but was always caught and brought back. Eventually, as Audrey reached her preteen/early teen years, she began to mellow out. She got lazy and overly relaxed, still not comfortable with the hugs and kisses and whatnot, but not fighting so hard like she used to. She picked up an interest in reading and many sports, becoming more and more your average girl. She wanted to go to public school though, and finally convinced her parents to let her attend for a few classes her freshman year. Overweight a bit, weighing 170lbs, Audrey was teased ruthlessly about that and many other things about her personality and appearance. She became incredibly self-conscious and began losing weight rapidly by refusing to eat. Her parents checked her into a hospital when she got down to 120lbs so quickly, and she was brought back up to 130 through force-feeding before released on the condition she attend counselling. Turns out, a counsellor was just what she needed. She began wanting to better herself in other ways, and began teaching herself to not care about what others said, so she could look in the mirror and be happy with herself. By the time she was 16, she had rounded out quite well personality wise. Her abilities however, had not gone unnoticed. Her parents accepted her for them, and had been helping her control them since they discovered that part of her. Audrey needed to be able to control herself in public after all and not go around accidentally blinding people. Audrey made the mistake of trusting the wrong person though. At the age of 17, she began a romantic relationship with the man who had been counselling her, and revealed her mutant nature to him. He instantly called Audrey a freak and threatened to defame her using everything she’d told him in their sessions. Heartbroken and afraid, Audrey ran away one more time. She was about to board a train when one of the teachers from the X-men Academy approached her, asking her to come with them to where she’d be accepted. She’s spent 6 months at the academy so far, and finds it to be where she should have been all along.
