Hibiscus sat in the back of the room. Her sunken eyes peering over the heads of the other students. She could hardly see the first speaker, a child. It hardly mattered, he had a loud voice and a large vocabulary. 'Technical pacifism?' She scoffed, thinking to herself 'So much for being a 'peace' corps.' Behind her, curled up, was a dog. Sort-of. From afar the canine appeared to be a limber and lean doberman. Up close, one would notice the beast had no eyes. The hound was curled up, his back to hers, appearing to sleep. Next up was the samurai, tall enough for Hibiscus to see clearly. She listened passively as he went over 'learning-types' then the 'verts'. A younger member with blueberry hair asked a question. 'Hah, afraid that he is not-so-clever after all?' She didn't understand the emotional connection that the samurai had for the 'Verts'. 'Like children? They are only constructs.' She doubted this man had any actual children. Perhaps it was a way for him to fulfill his paternal yearnings. She didn't know anyone else in the room, she was new to the corps, and she didn't have any questions. So she leaned back, waiting, while her hound continued to sleep.
