It's possible that we could implement both ideas. A growlithe could come in looking for her and inform her of a Charmeleon sighting (assuming she had asked the PD to keep a look out) and have her go off. Either the group would run into her and the Charmeleon in a dungeon at the start of that subplot some time in the future, or after returning from a dungeon the group finds her and the Charmeleon in the guild, in need of medical assistance. It would give her a reason to stay and someone to constantly care for her? Perhaps the reason for staying could even be using the resources of the library to clear up what happened to the Charmelon, creating a subplot. She could become a source of information XD
