A delightful post, Sir. I think Pavel will make a delightful entry into the RP. One thing of note, which does not require any correcting, I just wanted to make you aware of it, it was Midwinter night. All the villagers would have been celebrating, the town lit up with bonfires etc. It is fine if Pavel wanted to stay away and drown himself in his work, it makes sense. I just wanted to make sure the player knew it. 

Dreaming, I'm glad to hear you are on the other-side of your tough time. I hope you find plenty more chances to write now that you are back. I am never opposed to a hello now and again. You can attest to how we like a lively OOC.
