I have not seen very many roleplays focused on tragedy and grimdark environments, but I won't say there aren't any here. I'm not much of an avid fan of the stuff, but I do have my occasional cruel streak and sometimes I toy with some less fortunate character concepts~ And I agree with your statement, though having enough enthusiasm to give a roleplay enough thought and effort is a problem for some.
