Looking over them aside from the rape thing nothing suggests badness by any means in their lore section. Meritocracy nobility, equal gender rights, Evokers not being put on pikes for being evokers, perfect happiness rate. I know you aren't incompetent, so there are darker parts, but they should be hinted at as foreshadowing. Ugh, derp, forgive me I looked again, evokers carted off to breeding pits. I still hate them.

As for my character being without allegiance, he doesn't really have a choice. If it makes you feel any better he wants one, badly.
