The original DR motives were only good in context. The writers planned for certain people to end up in specific situations and had motivations that gelled with them. Unless Savo heavily railroads people, he can't plan for one motive to lead to something specific. Without someone specific to target, the motivations will be meaningless, as they would've been in DR if there hadn't always been someone that would end up acting on them. I say just wait for the characters to be assembled, and look for sore points in the group. People will appreciate it more when the motivations might actually mean something to them. And something more than some generic relative the player didn't even mention in their backstory, naturally XD
