Nooooo hostages. Its really not creative. You gotta be sneaky, you can use the lost memories to your advantage. Like I plan to do in mine.Make up some conflicts. Recylce some of the DR motives ._.
The hostages is going to be later for specific reasons... Mainly to frame one of my characters for murder. Theres a lot of twists I'm going to create that are caused by the unknown factors within my backstory. In a nutshell, its like the fifth trial, except he won't participate in the sixth trial. I also might increase the student body from 16 to 20.
The original DR motives were only good in context. The writers planned for certain people to end up in specific situations and had motivations that gelled with them. Unless Savo heavily railroads people, he can't plan for one motive to lead to something specific. Without someone specific to target, the motivations will be meaningless, as they would've been in DR if there hadn't always been someone that would end up acting on them.I say just wait for the characters to be assembled, and look for sore points in the group. People will appreciate it more when the motivations might actually mean something to them. And something more than some generic relative the player didn't even mention in their backstory, naturally XD
Theres a newbie roleplayer, and some other good roleplayers. Also, it needs to be able to target most of the student body to apply suspicion on everyone, not just one person imo. I will recycle a few used motives like the blackmail, but that will be later on. Also, might reuse Eien in that roleplay.
