Louisiana Border, USNA Side "Heh, they think we have spies. We don't have spies, we have informants. Just like they have Emperors and not dictators!" The entire barracks laughed at the young soldier's joke, there were few rules in the border guard despite the animosity between Louisiana and the USNA. Nobody expected an attack, so they were usually as loud as they wanted. For the older troops, it was much better than the border situations they remembered. Many had been stationed at the Korean border, where they had to constantly stand in front of a bridge in complete silence. They were like statues back then, not people. It was nice to have a chance to go back without having to leave the military. "Hey, hey, what do you call it when Louisiana tries to launch a rocket?" Said another, pausing as everyone waited for the punchline. "Friendly fire!" The barracks once again erupted in laughter, having no idea that a war wasn't in the near future. In fact, the President was enjoying Bobby's ambition to develop space. And everyone knew that when the President said something, the rest of the country found themselves agreeing with him.
"You were correct, Emperor. I did have spies there. Now let me make sure something is clear to you: I have no intention of going to war with your people. I may hate the idea of a monarchy, and I may even personally despise the ideologies many of your people subscribe to, perhaps including you. In fact, I might even see you as a person that should not exist. However, your attempt to rub your plans for a space station in my face has failed horribly. You can point at your giant castle thing and say 'Look at this! We are better than you!'. But there's more to it all than what we can see. The sooner your people learn that, the sooner your dreams of peace can become a reality."
