She grew up in an alternate dimension called Azarath, with pacifistic inhabitants whose spiritual leader was the mystic Azar. She was taught to "control her emotions" by Azar, in order to suppress her inherited demonic powers. During this time, Raven rarely saw her mother and grew detached from her. Upon Azar's death, Arella began the task of raising and teaching Raven. Around this same time she met her father face to face for the first time. Soon after her 16th birthday, Raven learned that Trigon planned to come to her dimension; she vowed to stop him. Confronting Trigon, Raven was quickly overwhelmed and captured by her demon father. Imprisoning her within his realm, Trigon indoctrinated Raven, warping her mind until she took up the title of Pride, giving into her demonic side. Fully embracing her demon self as a conqueror, Pride fought among her three brothers to claim the right to become Trigon's right hand and rightful heir. Sending Pride back to Earth, Trigon instructed her to conquer and enslave the world. However Pride was very quickly meant with opposition by Earth's mightiest heroes and after a long battle was defeated. Zatanna cast the final attack against Pride which freed Raven though ultimately killed her causing Raven to once against vanish from Earth's realm. Raven's spirit was eventually reincarnated in the body of a teenage girl by the Church of Blood a few months later. It was Nightwing who then discovered that the Church of Blood were worshipers of Raven's father, Trigon. He also found a prophecy that told of the marriage between Brother Blood and Raven that would result in Armageddon. Teaming up with Zatanna, the pair interrupted the wedding, and they managed to free Raven from the cult. During this, her body age had been reduced from 23 to 16. She then joined the Teen Titans and enrolled at a high school as "Rachel Roth" in honor of her mother's birth name, Angella Roth. Nightwing introduced Raven to the Titans, with whom she allied herself up until she was called away by Zatanna and Nightshade to combat another magical threat. Having recently finished that mission, Raven has decided to return to the Titans.[/INDENT] [B]| ABILITIES |[/B] [INDENT][I]Empathy:[/I] Psionic ability of empathy, the power to absorb emotions, enabling her to feel the feelings of others. [I]Emotion Negation:[/I] She can also use her empathy to steal emotions from others, rendering them emotionally "numb". [I]Empathic Healing:[/I] She can absorb the pain of injured people to ease their suffering, and induce rapid healing. This cannot be done to major injuries. [I]Telekinesis:[/I] Raven has the ability to move objects with mind, Depending on the level of concentrating that Raven can lend to this, it determines her strength up to a maximum of five tonnes until full stressed concentration. [I]Darkness Manipulation:[/I] Raven can generate darkness from herself and project it forward to attack her enemies. This darkness normally takes the form of a giant raven. [I]Soul-Self:[/I] Raven can manifest her "Soul-Self" through astral projection. It normally takes the form of either her human shape or a giant raven. [I]Astral Projection:[/I] Through the use of her soul-self, Raven can project her consciousness into the mind, for therapeutic purposes (to aid in her own meditation, or to help calm an agitated ally), or for offensive attacks, rendering her enemies unconscious. [I]Teleportation:[/I] It also serves as a way to travel into other dimensions. Using her soul-self, she can teleport herself and others over vast distances. [I]Flight:[/I] Raven is able to fly unassisted through the use of her telekinesis. Often times she levitates instead of simply walking..[/INDENT] [B]| PERSONALITY |[/B] [INDENT]Raven projects herself as mainly apathetic with small spikes of emotion based on her reaction to various situations. This is because her emotions can cause her powers to fluctuate and certain emotions can even trigger her demon side. Raven thus tries to keep her emotions in check often causing confusion as to her true inner state of mind.
