A Brief Notification: There seems to have been some misunderstanding concerning Avatar Abilities, Perks, and Specs. Thus, here's a nice rundown provided by your almighty CO-GM.

Lucius Cypher said
Okay, so here's how I've thought it was working like:

Everyone starts the game as your chosen class, one of the following five: Assassin, Gunner, Brawler, Healer, or Wizard. You start at Level 1 with one Avatar Ability; this would be whatever fits your class, or otherwise gives your Avatar your "Uniqueness" factor, such as Arms Slave's Multi-Melee. It doesn't necessarily have to match your Spec, which you won't get until you are Level 3. Your Level 2 Ability, much like your Level One Ability, can be anything that makes sense for your given Class. Arms Slave was just a brawler at first, but he had the unique ability to have many arms, and his Chain Catch ability is a versatile skill that would be good for Tanks, Bersekers, and Scrappers. Dark Wrath's Dark Hand and Miasma certainly does elude to her future as a Necromancer, however they aren't so specialized that she couldn't have worked as Warlock or Sorcerer, if she had chosen those Specs instead.

At Level Three you must chose your Spec, and your new Avatar Ability will reflect that. Arms Slave's Level 3 Avatar Ability allows him to be more durable, prefect for a tank, or how Dark Wraith can create Dead Thralls, fitting for a Necromancer. From there on, all Avatar Abilities you gain through leveling up will have to make sense for your Class and/or Spec as well. There is still some leeway with versatility, like how Arms Slave's Persistent Predator might seem more like an Assassin ability, but it essentially allows him to constantly agro and harass a single target, fitting for the guy who's suppose to be getting their attention. His Asura Assault doesn't seem like a Tanky skill, but it does make sense for his Avatar, who started off as a multi-armed brawler. That is pretty much the pattern of your Avatar Abilities all the way to level 9.

As for Perks, they are additional bonus and skills your avatar gains as they level up. They are additional "Perks" along side your Avatar Ability, however unlike your Avatar Ability you must chose what your Perks are from the given list. You gain your first Perk at Level 4, and will continue to gain one additional perk for each level, for a total of 6. So you should have one at Level 4, two at Level 5, three at Level 6, four at Level 7, five at Level 8, and six at Level 9. There is no Level 10 perk.

So here's a List of what each Avatar would gain at each level.

Level 1: Any sort of Avatar Ability based on your class
Level 2: Any sort of Avatar Ability based on your class
Level 3: Any sort of Avatar Ability based on your class spec
Level 4: Any sort of Avatar Ability based on your class or spec / One Level 4 Perk
Level 5: Any sort of Avatar Ability based on your class or spec / One Level 5 Perk
Level 6: Any sort of Avatar Ability based on your class or spec / One Level 6 Perk
Level 7: Any sort of Avatar Ability based on your class or spec / One Level 7 Perk
Level 8: Any sort of Avatar Ability based on your class or spec / One Level 8 Perk
Level 9: Any sort of Avatar Ability based on your class or spec / One Level 9 Perk

Total Avatar Abilities/Perks = 9 Abilities / 6 Perks

Also, everyone gains an Avatar Ability just so they have some move or technique in a battle, since not all classes have a though out auto attack. We know an assassin might have knives, or a gunner would use guns, or for a brawler to use weapons, but what about Wizards and Healers? Do they just punch people? Shoot magic missile? Their first Avatar Ability should be able to cover their main form of offense, just so they know they have a means to be offensive. Even Healers need to have some way to solo their opponents, even if they can only do scratch damage.

This way everyone has their own way of playing and ensures that no one can simply build a "Perfect" counter against an overall class or spec. Even the perks themselves should be used to improve the ability or function of a Class rather than limit their ability to just around that Perk. Additionally, I mention that the Avatar abilities can be either based on your "Class or Spec" from level 4 and up simply for players who don't really feel that their character would fit in any particular category, like if we get a Brawler guy who has melee AoE but doesn't waddle into a fight like a Berserker, take hits like a Tank, or punch people like a Scrapper. Or for people like Ryo's White Death, who's pretty much a Sniper Gunner except she uses Bow and Arrows instead of a rifle, and many of her future Avatar Abilities may reflect more on her gimmick rather than just her Spec.

Right got him all wrapped up, and here he is. Won't lie I'm still not sure about the abilities even after going over them a few times, must be how a game dev feels kinda hard coming up with good abilities then balance them.

Height: 5’9”

Weight: 157 lbs

Hair Color: Brown

Eye Color: Brown

Name: Richard Ryner

Age: 17

History: Richard's career started pretty much like anyone else he got DRO on his thirteenth birthday. Richards actual life was very plain, one mother, one father, and no siblings in a standard middle income apartment. School life was more less the same, average grade wise and not much of anywhere on the radar, other than a few fair weather friends he generally kept to himself.

Now his life in DGO is much more interesting. He goes by Enduring Survivor, while Richard himself had never been able to figure out why that became his name, he like it anyway. After four years of playing it was no surprise that he reached level five, he never burned through the levels by dueling but he did spend plenty of time online so leveling up through other means had been more then enough to supplement him. Now that's not to say he's a stranger to player on player combat, when offered to a duel he usually accepted, it was a much better challenge than the normal. Through his actions online Richard had earned himself a reputation of always fighting to the death, he had never run from combat once in his entire history. He was hardly famous, however if someone were to do some research on him, or rather his avatar, they would undoubtedly find a lot of information, he teetered on the edge of the unknown and the realm of the known.

Richard had never really considered joining a guild, he just was simply content with sitting on the sidelines as a solo player. Also he had a distaste for kingdom politics, never quite understood the need for the fighting and conquest between the guilds. Still with the recent death of the kings, the foundation of the virtual world had been shaken, everything was going to change and Richard knew this. Maybe it was about time to take a stand, time to fight alongside side with a king.

Personality: In a few short words Richard could be described as, stubborn, persistent, and defiant. In a social setting Richard could be considered average, no so much as a hermit, but also not a social butterfly. Typically prefers to stay solo, but he's not arrogant, he recognizes the value of teamwork and is more than willing to work with others if needed.

Avatar Class: Gunner(Armsman)

Avatar Title: Enduring Survivor

Avatar Level (Initial): 5

Avatar Guild: Solo

Perks: Field Medic, Combat Armor.

Other: For his main and practically only weapon Richard wields an assault rifle, the specific one he uses has been in his service for a long time. Through modifications and the like, the rifle performs on the level needed course with its age it might need to be replaced soon. Otherwise he has a knife but no other side arm.

Uh… I’ll pick Jade as my color, no real reason other than I like the word itself.

Edit: Usually I hide the entire CS but got quite a few in here already that its kinda confusing to poke through now, so just going to leave it like this.

For future reference, what exactly is the average running speed and jump height? Since a lot of us work on multipliers for speed and stuff, it'd be handy at least for me to know about

Ignore the underlines again. Glitchy RP is glitchy. You all have three options.

1. Log onto Deep Ground and fight some people.

2. Log onto Deep Ground and search for the Masked Man/fight some Dissolutions.

3. Stay in the real world and mess with your Student President.

Jump height is at least enough to launch over buildings. Running speed would be twice the speed of regular humans without Perks/Specs/Abilities, I suppose. Technically speaking, Player Avatars are generally twice as better physically than their human counterparts without factoring the other stuff in.

I shall be posting no wish :o

Apparently I have heart shaped letters to respond to.

Edit: I updated my perks and skills. I THINK that I did the last 3 skills right? I added 2 to the beginning of the list and 1 to the end.

Edit 2: Why attack me? So rude. D:

Is this still accepting? I have an idea for a character that got messed up by his avatar abilities. Namely he picked Assassin class but his ability makes music play for every significant action he makes. Defeating an NPC, Final Fantasy victory music resounds throughout the area. He killed a player? Bon Jovi's "Shot to the Heart" advertises to the world that he's the one who did it.

No he will not be a whacky fun loving goofball in keeping with such a "lol hilarious" ability, he will be resigned to the fact that music plays all the time and just puts up with it.

P.S. whats the current level spread for characters? I guess that it's around level 4-5?

Sure, we have some more room left up. Your concept for the theme music seems very interesting and even a little hilarious at that. Bring up a CS and we'll go from there. Player Levels range right now, I'd say, from 4-6. Only a few people have Level 7s and you can always make a lower Level character too. I'd also recommend you place him in a Guild or make him a Sweeper as we have plenty of Solo Players.

Join the Black Guild! We're the biggest, meanest bunch, but we also LOVE a musical number! Even right now we're leading a raid with musical accompaniment of 2pac. You character would fit right in with use, providing a much needed BGM in the midst of our mayhem.

Yeah, well, Tupac is dead. So your argument is invalid.
