Hikisaka has pale skin and long black hair. He is muscular and somewhat thin. On his chest is a massive red seal. His bodies veins stick out in many places originating from the spot of that seal. He is normally fully armored to conceal this. He is roughly 6 feet tall.
Bio: Hikisaka was born into a family of warriors who served their local lord of the Gowa family. Hikisaka was raised sword in hand. He learned the Reta family warrior traditions. He trained hard from his early years so that he may bring honor to his family by serving his lord. At the age of 22 after his years of training he put to tests of mind, body, and spirit to determine weather or not he was worthy as a warrior to serve Lord Gowa. His family was very strict in their rules. Only the strongest were worthy.
Hikisaka's first trial was the trial of the mind. He was sent into an ancient maze to retrieve a sword. The maze was laid with traps and puzzles, and riddles. Only through intelligence and caution would one make it through alive. After two full days of trekking through the maze with no food and little rest Hikisaka managed to find the sword. After exiting the maze he was told the sword was in fact crafted for his use.
The next step was the test of the body. Hikisaka was sent into the woods with only a dagger to hunt a bear. This was no test of stealth. A fellow family member followed him to make sure he performed his duty correctly. He was to directly confront an adult bear and do battle with it. He did exactly that. He found and charged a large bear. The beast immediately struck with it's claw and Hikisaka dodged it. getting close to the bear he stabbed it in the arm with his dagger. The beast again struck with the other arm. Hikisaka again dodged but not fast enough. He received a large bleeding claw wound on his shoulder. The beast raised it's claw preparing again to strike. Hikisaka rushing with adrenaline quickly drove the dagger into the beasts heart killing it instantly. He then removed the head of the beast and returned home with it as a trophy and reminder.
After a few weeks of allowing his wound to heal Hikisaka was sent to take the test of his spirit. Unlike in the other tests Hikisaka did not know what to expect for this one. He was not given any specific task. He was simply sent into a dark cave with no light source. The elders of the family told him he would know what he was meant to do when the time came. Hikisaka wandered the cave for hours directionless and feeling around with his hands as his eyes were completely useless. There was no sound anywhere. It was almost as if Hikisaka had entered another world. A world were he alone existed. He continued to wander for what felt like days. He had no way to tell time. Eventually laid down and slept from exhaustion. When he awoke he felt as if he was dying of hunger and thirst. He got up and saw a light and walked towards it. He saw what he felt must have been an illusion. He was now in a room with a candle lit in the center on a table next to a piece of paper and glass of some sort of liquid. He looked behind him to see the way which he had entered was no more. He approached the table although he felt as if he could barely even walk anymore. He looked around to see the room he was in had no exit. He looked at the drink on the table with desire in his eyes. He was so thirsty. Before picking up the glass he read the piece of paper next to it. It said "Welcome to the end. You will die here no matter what you do. You might as well make it quick." It was then Hikisaka realized the drink in front of him was poison. Hikisaka held the glass and sat down staring at it for a long time. He considered his options. He was in extreme pain from lack of liquid or food. This would end that pain. Still he knew he couldn't allow himself to give up. Hikisaka decided to destroy the temptation in front of him. He smashed the glass against the ground with what little energy he had left and again passed out. When he awoke he was on the grass in front of the elders of his family. The one in the center of them spoke "Congratulations. You've passed. The entire cave had never existed. It was all an illusion created by a mage in the service of the Reta family.
Finally Hikisaka was permitted to join the warriors of his family and fight in service to the Gowa family. The current lord of the Gowa's was a middle aged man named Takudo. As Hikisaka arrived in his service, Lord Takudo and a neighboring lord were in the middle of a dispute about who was meant to rule over a chunk of land between them. This dispute had escalated into a conflict. The two lords had battles for three years without a clear victor. Eventually the war shifted in the Gowa families favor. As Takudo was preparing a final assault against his rival the opposing lord unleashed his last resort. The rival lord had in his service a master summoner. This summoner set loose into the world a powerful uncontrollable demon called Ragnos. Ragnos was set loose upon Takudo's army decimating much of it. Ragnos swept across the Gowa families land like a hurricane indiscriminately killing and destroying. Takudo eventually decided to send a unit of warriors and a powerful mage to confront the demon. The mage had magical pot to seal the demon within.
Hikisaka and his unit were sent with task of protecting the mage while he sealed the demon away. Hikisaka thought to himself that his measure was pointless as the demon was a force of nature that towered over trees and castles alike. What could mere swordsmen possible do against such a force? After a week or so of tracking the soldiers managed to find the beast. Ragnos war hard at work destroying a village. The mage placed the pot in front of him and opened it. He began to perform his spell. However debris from a nearby building came flying towards him. Hikisaka seeing this jumps to push the mage out of the way. Sadly the pot was destroyed by the debris. Hikisaka got off the ground and looked towards the village. He could not allow all the people who lived there to die. He told the mage to leave with the rest of the unit. The mage responded by saying "If you're willing to die stop that beast surely you're willing to have a less gruesome fate. The pot wasn't the only means to seal the demon. I can also seal it within a live human. I don't know what the effects it would have on you would be but surely this is a better alternative than running at it just to die." Hikisaka agreed and the mage performed the spell. With a flash of light Ragnos was no more. Hikisaka's veins began to pop out from his skin. He was on the ground in extreme pain. Hikisaka screamed as he transformed into a beast that resembled Ragnos. Without being able to control himself Hikisaka brutally killed the mage along with the rest of the warriors in his unit. After this was done he turned back to normal. Realizing what he had done Hikisaka felt he had no choice but to return to his family in shame to be killed. The elders of the Reta family however had a different solution. They had the same mage who had aided in Hikisaka's trial of spirit draw a seal on his chest to contain the demon. The mage told Hikisaka that even with the seal in place to stop the transformations from happening he would need to be able to stay calm and not give way to negative emotions. He told him that he had a friend who could teach him meditation and help him maintain his calm. This friend was a high ranking mage in The Order named Josephine.
Hikisaka hiked for weeks to reach the headquarters of the order. It was his first time leaving Tachikawa and was surprised by how different the rest of the world was. Upon arrival at the order he met Josephine. Josephine explained to Hikisaka that he had to keep his condition a secret or else The Order may see fit to execute him. The following years were spent in mental training to contain Ragnos. Eventually Josephine decided that Hikisaka was able to handle himself. She told him that he was now expected to pay back his debt to the order. Hikisaka was then Sent to Fort Raven's Peak to fight on the behalf of the order. Once again he would take up his sword and redeem his honor.
