Well first off, I should remind everyone that Ghost, Zerox, and the rest of the Hunters were [i]already[/i] battle hardened military officials. They were hand picked by the military's leaders to be given Kages because they were the most trustworthy soldiers in terms of combat expertise and utility. So it you can assume Zerox and Ghost know how to throw a throwing knife.

Second, the throwing knives pictured weren't meant to be thought of as spinning knives. Instead, their paths were to be compared to those of darts, spears, or like [url=http://img4.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20120923063011/naruto/images/5/55/Kunaithrow.png]kunai[/url] from Naruto.
