There is nothing wrong with basing cards on already Existing ones. Especially where you cannot use original ones (or at least it's not welcomed).
"Demon Lords 101 - use broken cards like a pro" ~By xXx_$wagmenite_xXx "Demon Lord LV4" - As stand alone monster it's not so powerful. But when you combine it with fact that you take no battle damage from battles involving this card and when it's destroyed you can immediately special summon LV6 and attack with it to inflict damage, its too much. "Demon Lord LV6" - So you just summoned this monster with effect of LV4. What's now you may ask? Now it's time to inflict some damage to your opponent. And there is nothing to worry about. After all it cannot be destroyed by card effects. But now as you inflicted some damage you may ask yourself: "What's now? I have no monsters left!" And here is where you are wrong. Because maybe you don't have any monsters now. But during your End Phase you will have something better than this mock version of a true monster. It's time to introduce you to "Demon Lord LV8"! "Demon Lord LV8" - It's pretty much invisible monster. Only way your opponent can get rid of this card is by returning it to your hand or deck. And we all know how many splash-able cards can do this. "But I want a strong ATK!" you may say. But that's where you are wrong. Because it's a skill based deck. "What is a skill based deck?" you may ask. In this case it's a deck that summons one invisible monster to tickle your opponent to death. So what exactly LV8 have to offer? For starters it's immortal when your opponent try to get rid of it by standard means. Second effect is "tinkling" effect; your opponent takes all battle damage you would take from battles involving this card. And for our last dish - whenever this card is attacked OR attack itself it gets a bonus. During your End Phase you get to Special Summon "Demon Lord LV10". "And what's the best part?" you may ask. After all this effect seems to be pretty standard. But this is where you are wrong. This effect Special Summons LV10 without your LV8 hitting your graveyard. That means you can redo this process every turn. Isn't that convenient? "Demon Lord LV10" - As for our boss monster, this card is pretty weak. It can be destroyed with Card Effects. "But why would we take downgraded version?" you may ask. 1st it's for free. 2nd it creates situation where your opponent needs to attack you, or he won't be able to use his monsters . If he try he will only take damage. And if your opponent decides to not attack, his monsters will be destroyed. "Note from author" - that's all for this part of our "101 - use broken cards like a pro" series. Next time on "Demon Lord LV2 101 - use broken cards like a pro" we will get into more detailed "Demon Lord" tactics. See you next time!
