I forgot to mention, his "powers" are more of a curse to him and he dislikes it. his parents died because he could not use his powers to the max potential at that time. The only time he uses his abilities is when he, and most of all others really need it. Like I mentioned he is emotionally unstable when he uses seek because it reminds him of his childhood days as a weaker person. this makes it painful for him to use his powers on a minute to minute basis. I hope that makes it sound more satisfactory :D
