Well, technically there's still radiation, it's just heat rather than alpha, beta, or gamma radiation :p

Also, I'm not sure giant monsters have that kind of visible muscle movement, which I think is how Holmes does his 'precognition' besides having a decent understanding of his opponent's fighting style.
