Hey just hopping on real quick!
Just wanted to say there is a lot going on so far in the way of character development, so instead of sending 8 million PMS I will just vaguely address you all here.
Topic One: Invisibility
I have multiple people trying to go for invisibility, and while it is a useful tool not everybody quite understands it. So let me explain it real quick. For one to become invisible, the light must actually be bent around them, making it appear as if there were never there at all by hiding themselves from the visible spectrum. During the daytime, there is a great quantity of light to contend with, making it quite the difficult feat. One could do this while standing still. At night this is much easier, less light, allows for walking (albeit slowly).
With all that in mind Invisibility is denied to anyone who does not specifically focus on a school of magic called "Abjuration", or "Shadow magic." The exceptions to this rules are: Familiars, enchantments, runes, empowered tattooes, etc. Even then, if I do not feel it is crucial to your character then I will deny you. Just because you are an assassin does not automatically qualify you either. Also, if you rework your entire character just to have this, I may deny you anyways. (I have plenty of applicants, trust me.)
**This includes things that obscure you by nature, mass effect charms that will others from noticing you, and "shape shifting" into an unseen form.
Abjuration is mostly light magic, focusing on defensive barriers, shields, healing, and the likes. There is technically no offense other than cleansing the unholy, i.e priest/healer magic.
Topic Two: The amount of repeat characters. I have a handful of bounty hunters, and a handful of nobility, with a couple of unique characters. I'm not asking you to change per say, but I would like for you to challenge yourselves. Stray from the norm, the popular, or the easy. Bounty hunters have the easiest "storyline" ... "I hunt bad guys" , which is almost the same as a wandering nomad, homeless man, or NEET. (Not Employed, in Education, or Training). Essentially these characters bring no development to the story other than maybe killing some highly wanted criminal.
The nobility on the other hand, if you have not submitted a character for it yet, then be warned. My character is going to be nobility, and playing my political game is quite hard. If you don't enjoy challenges, failure, and deep sorrow, you should probably stay away from this. I won't be unfair, but I will use every single mistake you make against you (most likely). Also in case it was missed, anything from governor, nobility, and up are subject to plots, schemes, and attempts on their lives. Nobility also have pretty extensive families, so I will need a detailed family tree, and an explination of your noble house, how they came to power, and what important business they run. (The arclight mines are currently taken and accounted for, as is the Merchant's Guild.)
Fated Fallen, this message is for you directly. I read you cs and honestly I am not pleased with you. "....he will need friends to embark on a journey to..." is the exact thing I said this wasn't going to be. Understand that character's paths may intertwine, but if you should find a group of followers you're little quest with completely negate any kind of story arc they had going on. Did you miss the part where I said this wasn't going to be a "scallywagging adventure between a misfit group of heroes" or what? And if you say " independent of other characters as per your instructions" or "made it clear you didn't want that" one more time, you can just leave because obviously you pay little to no attention to the things I say. I gave you no instructions on how to create and play your character, and every single person here can vouch for that. What do I always say? You can play whatever you want. (Within reason of course, which is why I help balance our CS's and make suggestions on what could be changed, but I haven't forced anything until the invisibility issue arose).
I'm not trying to be mean, though I do lack a certain finesse when it comes to things like this. It's advice, so take it or leave it, dont write a big reply about how you didn't mean to do this, and you never intended that. I can read just fine, perhaps you could actually show me you're listening.
