"No...not you again..." Seth muttered under his breath. He was standing in the middle of the hallway, his room in sight. But there was something holding him back...
...It was a banana peel in the middle of the hallway. Seth had barely noticed it when he first entered the wing, but who could miss the yellow color and brown polka dots of the world's deadliest weapon?
He stared at the peel with an intense look, and it seemed like it was mocking him. There was a window open and a wind flowed through the hallway. Seth's heart was beating at a million mph as he was engaged in a battle of wills and cold sweat started to beat on his forehead.
'Who's gonna make the first move?'
The dean had just come back from the restroom when the doors of the dining hall opened. He quickly got himself seated next to Ms. Rina, the school nurse and they made idle chat while they watched the student body pour in.
There were touchscreen menus installed into the tables, and this was a feature they recently installed. For every seat, there would be a touchscreen there for the student to order from. The order would be transmitted to the kitchens next door and the servers would deliver those orders to them.He could see a few students already trying this new feature as they already had plates of food in front of them.
Upon hearing he headmaster's comment, he grinned "Hopefully the kids won't break the screens on the first day. They were quite expensive." He grabbed a wireless headset and turned it on.
"Test. Testing....1,2,3..." His voice was transmitted through the speakers on the table as well as the six big speakers mounted on the wall around the hall.
He cleared his throat.
"Hello and greetings, students! Please go ahead and have a seat with your friends. As you sit down, you'll notice a white fabric in front of you. If you flip the fabric over, you should see a small touchscreen which should be powered on at this moment. That particular touch screen gives you access to the schools menu. You'll order from there and the waiters will bring you your food shortly after. So please get yourselves situated and the headmaster will address you guys shortly.
Oh and if I may add, today's special is Parmesan Chicken Pasta. You'll see it on the menu in big letters. Every one of our specials is crafted with love by our specialists working in the kitchens and they strive offer a daily special every day! We also do not serve alcohol here! I'd highly reccommend you give the special a try!"
Seth's eyes searched the hallway, looking for some sort of weapon or something he could use against his nightmare foe.
There!A trash can!
He quickly maneuvered himself to approach the banana peel from the rear and grabbed it tightly, grimacing at the mushy feeling and slimy texture. With a yell, he threw the peel into the trash can. "Not in my house, you sick creep!"
Breathing heavily, he stepped back from the trash can and quickly entered his room, feeling the need to shower after that close encounter.
