Aren't there three newbies? Caden, Mordechai, and Kai. (although Kai's not young and green.) And Nainë's the only one who was reassigned.

My half-elf is passing himself off as a human though, so as far as everyone's concerned the recruits are all human and there's only one half-human in the band.

Sorry for all the comments, and I haven't even posted... I really don't know where to start, actually. Since your post was really general, I'm not really sure what I should do... I mean, if I wanted to do something general too, I could do a rough sketch of how my guys relate to the other band members, but other than that I'd be repeating stuff you said about how it's weird there's so many humans and how racist the Elensa population is. But I have no idea where to start with a more specific close-up scene of the characters... Unless I fast forward all the way to the arrival at the castle or something.
