For as long as man can remember, he has faced monsters in his quest to expand and grow as a species. Some among his people tried to make peace with the beasts, but often these peaces were short lived, and man quickly found himself in conflict with them again, though some were born during these peaces who gained a new power: These monsterborns found themselves gifted with the ability to warp the elements to their will. Their abilities, cristened magic, allowed them to gain dominion over the realms.
In 505 AD, a man was born of a dragon and a king. This man, known as Arthur, led the people of England, as well as their neighbors in Scotland and Ireland, against invaders, and became known as the one true king of Britain.
Near the end of Arthur's life, a discovery was made in Egypt by English traders. This discovery was the Rosetta Stone, and with its discovery, so to were discovered the Angelic Runes: Words of power, which allowed man the ability to use magic without being born of monsters.
For 500 years, this form of magic was studied, refined, and its users began to develop their own philosophies and views on the matter, and, as man is wont to do, splits began.
Four houses, four clans were formed, each taking up residence in different parts of the islands.
In Perth stood the Northern Clan, Ignis, who used their powerful fire magic to take to the air.
In York was the Eastern Clan, Aqua, whose torrential waters were used to overpower all.
In Devon, the Southern Clan, Terra, used their powers over the earth to shield themselves from their aggressors
While in Connaught settled the Western Clan, Ventus, fighters whose agile fighting was backed by the wind.
Between the fighting of the clans within the isles and the general mistrust between the countries that made them up, the alliance forged by Arthur should never have lasted. And yet, for nearly half a millenium, it stood.
Today the British Isles are a place of shaky politics. Ever so slowly, the Arthurian Alliance shakes at its base. Speak of war is rampant, and it seems that both the English and the Scots are building armies for a confrontation that has been brewing for 5 centuries...
Right, so this is the Alpha Interest Check for this rp (Beta Interest Check is here.), with an actual story and background set up.
The character sheet rubric is as follows:

History:
Even though this is in free, I'm not expecting any one liners. You're expected to have good spelling and grammar, and to write 3 sentences per post. Not anything difficult, but certainly not what's expected in Casual.
The only real considerations in character creations are as follows:
1- Scribes (The users of Runes) may only practice one of the 5 schools, due to the secrecy the clans use, and the difficulty of learning and using the different alphabets. You may have tattoos and prepared runes from any clan, so long as there's a reason for you to have it.
2- Monsterborn characters look mostly human due to the strength of human blood. They can use magic of any of the 4 elements, and have the power to combine the elements, though they lack a certain finesse, which they make up for in variety that mixing spells brings.
3- Magic is NOT going to be a be all end all. I'm not sure what the balancing factor will be, but in a fight between a Monsterborn, a master swordsman, and a master scriber, there's no way of determining who would win outright.
So yeah. Finally, my co-developer and the creater of the Runes/Scribing is CrimsonWarrior55, and he's the guy to ask for questions about that part. Anyway, looking forward to starting this, and I hope you guys will be stoked as I am.
