I see what you mean, but that's another thing- very similar to playing favorites. Grammar Nazis and being staff on Minecraft servers have taught me how to write properly and to be fair. It's a shame that others don't see fairness as needed as I do.
There's fairness, and then there is pre-existing knoledge. since you staff MC servers let me give you a example; Player A has 200 diamonds, and dosn't use them for anything exept trolling other players. Player B steals 10 of them, Player A complains and player B gets banned. That is hardly fair, Player A is trolling, and has more than enough Diamonds. player b stole only 1/20'th of them. I highly doubt it'll be much of a issue. however, letting player B get away with it isn't fair either. see? Now, Pre existing conditions dictate that if you KNOW player A has a history of trolling and generally being unpleasent, then your likely to be harsher on him than other players, Just as if a famous youtuber joined your server your likely to be kind, welcomeing and understanding of him. The same goes here; Kat and I have played together before, and she knows how my chars work, they feel OP when read and if pushed in to a situation that forces them to display their skills. However I (as a player) HATE doing things like that. so I will avoid them, My char's tend to be very strong, but with either a unwilliness to use their powers. or just a personality that means they don't use their powers. For instance, it would be like me Joining your MC server and you knowing I was a famous youtuber, or a very good builder, you'd want to keep me round and be nice to me. or if I joined and you KNOW I'm a troll and a greifer, you'd be harsher on me and less lenient.
