Name: Ash Barton Age: 19 Gender: Female Gemstone: Diamond Appearance:
Ash also possesses large burn scars along her stomach, ribs, and sides.
Personality: Ash's personality is a reflection of her somewhat broken self. She is reactive, and only typically speaks when spoken to. Submissive by nature, and friendly by proxy, Ash is a person that wouldn't normally be associated with some that has a special gift. Inclined to keep to herself, Ash actually yearns for more personal interaction with as many people as possible, but will never make the desire public. Despite this reservedness, Ash is actually quite good with social skills once finally engaged, and is surprisingly smart and understanding of many situations. The biggest part of Ash's personality is her deflection of anything targeting. Either it be praise, or scorn, Ash has a knack for always avoiding or deflecting any type of attention put on her, instead wishing to focus on others. Gifts (Limited to Three): Ash's power is the ability to materialize 4 inches of uncut, thick diamond anywhere on her body, making a nearly impenetrable shield. She can chose to cover a specific part of her body with the diamond, or she can chose to turn her whole body to diamond, which she can do so instantly. Luckily, Ash's second power is possessing a sizable amount of strength, permitting her to move and run while she is using her diamond skin ability. While this strength is powerful, it is nowhere near peak human strength, or even in the same ballpark as super strength. Ash's drawbacks to her powers are very dangerous to her well being. While she is able to use her diamond powers, and has a good amount of strength, Ash's body is still fragile. Excessive bludgeoning force could hurt her, such as a car crashing into her at full speed. While she'd likely live, she would be lucky to leave the incident with minimal damage to internal organs. Ash's second drawback is somewhat more serious, due to the ability to materialize diamond from her skin, and dematerialize it instantly, she suffers from limited nerve and internal damage from it. Extensive use of her powers can trigger tonic-clonic seizures, which last for nearly 20 minutes. The seizures take a violent toll on Ash's body, and mental health. Often leading to large gaps of memory loss exceeding a couple of days, the seizures are also slowly killing Ash. History: Ash grew up in a broken family, spending time between her mother and father since a very young age. Ash grew up a single child, but was not lent the special privileges of the position. Never spoiled, or coddled, Ash's parents had a tendency of allowing Ash to figure out things for herself, never lending much help. Ash did not thrive off of this, and she grew a dependency disorder with people close to her. Growing up a mainly normal life, albeit with less social interaction than a normal life, Ash didn't discover her powers until she was 17. Ash's father's house had caught fire in the middle of the night for an unknown reason, causing part of the ceiling to collapse down on her while she slept. Desperate to get the piece of ceiling off of her to save herself, Ash's powers finally materialized, giving her the strength, and the diamond skin, to escape the burning house. Unfortunately, Ash's father died in the fire, leaving her with her mother. After a long period of withdrawal, and depression, Ash received a letter asking her to a house. The letter knew of her powers, something she hadn't shared with many people. Left with no other roads, Ash decided to trudge to the house, in order to find solace, and maybe safety.
